1,139 Miles

The distance it takes to change a life

By Dani BananiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

At first, I drove into the light

and felt as though I knew it all.

And yet, when day turned into night,

my whims to fears, I made a call.

The hotel room was dim with dread.

The rain had halted further miles.

Your voice, it did send me to bed;

though then, my restless dreams gave trials.

"But no, a journey quite like this

should not be darkened fearfulness."

"My love, the ride will not be bliss,

but life will still begin for us."

And with the end of time to roam,

a kiss, a hug, a "welcome home."
