Worship Should Be Real

The church is not a place for drama.

Some believe in God while others do not. Some people say, why believe in something that you don’t see? You cant see the wind, but its there. We cant see the air we breathe, but its there. Religion is a sensitive subject that no one wants to talk about. Guess what? I will.

In the Baptist faith, we go to church on Sundays. I'm getting ready to speak the truth but don't be offended.

Why is it that people only feel that the pastor is preaching to certain people? We are all in the same place at the same time. Sister so and so, brother so and so, usher, deacon, choir member, whoever, the pastor is never directing the word at anyone. The word is for everybody. So stop thinking about who he may be talking about because you are committing sin yourself mentally when you do that. Judgment is not your job; it’s the Lord’s job and also leave the preaching to the pastor because that is who was designated to do that.

Why do people feel its okay to diss the preacher? I’ll tell you what. If he is such a bad person, why do you return Sunday after Sunday to listen to him? I see something wrong with this equation. Nobody is forcing you to do it, so you can leave when you get ready. No need to hate the preacher because he is telling the truth. That’s his job. The only reason you are mad is because he calls it like he sees it and its under your skin because you are doing something he’s preaching about and your natural response is to get mad and tell somebody that he was talking about you. He’s not singling you out. Unless he directly calls your name and says: I know this is what you are doing outside of this church, then sit down somewhere.

People always say that the devil goes to church too or that people allow the devil to use them or that people are full of hell. There’s that judging again. People have attitudes anywhere you go. If it wasn’t stopped a long time ago, then it wont stop now. The pastor can only do so much. He’s human like everyone else. As a leader, its his job to discuss something with a person but if that person has a hateful nature, it goes in one ear and out the other.

People need to learn to mind their business. If somebody comes in the church with a different man or woman every Sunday, that doesn’t phase me. Why? Because that’s not why we come to church. Praise and worship is what we come to church for. I don’t care what anyone does or does not do. If the spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend is cheating, not my business. That’s something that they have to deal with and work out amongst themselves. I’m not running or telling anything. Playing tattle tale should be over with by now.

I didn’t want to but I’m going to say it anyway: When people sing in church, support them. Stop saying people cant sing, need to be quiet, or shouldn’t try. If you have time to sit back and say all that, then your loud mouth self should have sang something yourself. Nothing burns me up more than somebody who says something about a person singing a song because its not the same people or person that sings all the time. At least their worship is real.

To conclude, I say this: The preacher does his job by preaching the word. Do yours and take in what you have heard.
