Everyone loves to sing. Maybe you are just practicing to see if you can sing. Maybe you want to sing, and create your own song. I know you are in the car and a song comes on that you love, and you are singing up a storm. The person next you is saying, please stop. Wouldn't it be great if the person next to you thought to themselves, I want to sing like that.
Everyday after you had your breakfast or coffee, while you are getting ready for the day practice singing. Even if you do just simple sounds. Wake your voice up. Everyday try to get stronger and stronger. Louder and louder. As I mention in the audio recording I am going to share you can tap creating a beat, and then do a song. Also, when I first started to learn how to play guitar and sing at the same time I talked it out. Once I got comfortable, and felt the music and beat that is when I started singing and playing. You will have to practice daily.
Do you know how to hum? Guess what you need your voice for that to, it is just at a different level. Check this out. According to Cluff, Jennifer, a Cananadian flutist and teacher explains how the throat works for flute playing "Blow more sustained-ly using the abdominal exhaling muscles, and become more aware of the openess of your throat (found on 2025 July 12). Basically, she is saying you have to open your throat from the abdomen. Breath out hard to clear the cob webs you created by not singing lol. Keep opening your throat more and more, and you will get it.
OMG!!!!! If I hear one more person say to me I cannot sing, or a follow a beat. That is because your mind is constantly going like a ferris wheel spinning. You want to calm your mind to be clear when you are trying to sing, so you can listen, while following a beat. I have seen this multiple teams with people. The beat is one way in the song, but I am not really sure what the other person is tapping to. Apparently, their melody and the melody of the song is not the same.
You can do this. You can sing just like anyone else. Who knows maybe you will be the next star. Also, remember do not speed a song up if that is not the rhythm, it does not sound right. Last year for my birthday this was funny. My family started to sing, while my son was lighting the candle, and they were off tune for a moment. Because everyone was singing at a different time. That is my family lol. It was interesting.
I want to touch a little bit of something else your voice is an instrument, vocals, and effective communicator. Point 1, you do not need any instruments when you are singing, because your voice is an instrument. Point 2, your vocals are a sound of its own. You can change tones, pitch, and emotion. If you are sad your voice is going to communicate that for you. If you are happy the tone of your voice will amplify that emotion. Your emotions are shown through your voice. If you are sad usually it is a low tone. If you are happy usually it is a pitch higher. Point 3, Your voice is an effective communicator. For example, asking your boss for a raise. Your voice will communicate that for you. Having conversations with friends you use your voice to have a conversation. Our voices are so valuable, so make sure to treat it well.
Healing your throat chakra is very important. Guess what they recommend? Singing/chanting/humming will clear your throat chakras out. Chakra's are energy fields within our bodies. It is very important to keep your chakras aligned. Being on point, happy, and living your best life is one of ways of doing this even without realizing it. The more. positive energy you have the better energy surrounds you. Another way to heal your throat chakra is tapping lightly on vocals clearing them out. I mention the recording I am going to share with you about meditation hums, and how it helps clearing out your throat. You can look up methods on google, and you can find a bunch of ways of doing it.
Here is a link to my newest voice lesson https://soundcloud.com/cheryln918/voice-lesson-3-wav?si=6f0dd74961714f7bbbe0ef6584d1743b&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
Please remember something that is very important. Your voice will get stronger the more you practice, even if you are older. You know how to talk, laugh, and cry. You to will learn how to sing. Have fun while trying. Here is another song that gets me going when I need to wake up. https://youtu.be/52iW3lcpK5M?si=L0Koahu-y-IacfFc. Madonna, Get Into The Groove. Check it out if you have not heard this.
