If this is the case then one needs serious tools.
Most people have one or two psychological boxes when dealing with life’s issues.
Having limited boxes stifles one’s ability to grow intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially .
Developing mental toughness critical thinking skills manages most of the emotional barriers along our daily journey .
Mental toughness doesn’t mean being rude, arrogant, stubborn, intolerant, or tough. Mental Toughness implies one’s ability to compartmentalize.
Compartmentalization is the ability to place issues into separate psychological boxes in order to manage them effectively.
You acquire the knowledge and mental strength in order to place issues or problems into very distinct and separate boxes without compromising your emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence is the key to real success in life and business.
Mental toughness that is coupled by emotional intelligence is the psychological armor required in society today in order to stop the drama and take your life back.
Not utilizing the five boxes on a regular basis simply surrenders your personal power to an outside entity.
Take your life back and stop the incessant drama.
You can accomplish this efficiently with the five boxes. One key opens all of the boxes.
So, do what is humanly possible. When you’ve done everything that you can, put it into the box and do not entertain any additional thoughts regarding the issue until you are ready to open the box again and manage the issue.
With discipline and patience, you will be in control and begin to manage most issues that are attempting to bombard you 24/7 and 86,400 seconds of each day.
In order to do this effectively, one needs to understand the following.
Our fight or flight hormones cortisol and adrenaline actually speed up your heart rate. The next course of action is determined by your behavior. But when there is no real perceived danger, you must not react but respond proactively and this is where knowledge is power.
The X represents react and the Y represents response. A former seminar participant inspired the following illustration with his quote, “It’s how you respond to adversity that will shape your life.”
The red colored section prior to the fork represents a decisive moment. If one has not embraced compartmentalization, they will always choose emotional thought over critical thought. Choosing critical thinking allows one to move forward with intelligent, proactive behavior that leads to awesome results.
Now, you have serious tools when life gives you a yo-yo.
“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.” – Dolly Parton
Yes, Dolly Parton is right on the money as life is simply like a yo-yo.
A yo-yo is fun to play but the ups and downs of life are not always fun however we need to learn how to navigate them efficiently.
Understanding the XY yo-yo syndrome is helpful in order to manage those ups and downs.
Your own personal X factor is anything that immobilizes, derails or prevents you from growing intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, physically or financially.
Your Y is anything that you want to be, do, or have more in your life.
In this article, we’re going to talk about erasing the stuff that doesn’t work in your life thus allowing that inner Y to appear. Its appearance will manifest into incredible, joyous and Godsome happenings in your life.
The more that you understand this concept, the more that your own personal Y will show up right on schedule. Your own personal Y is synonymous with second chances in life.
Many well-intentioned people suffer hardships that are not easy to overcome but they remain stuck as no one ever taught them to pick up their eraser and start erasing part of the X that hides their inner Y.
Everyone was endowed at birth with this inner Y.
This is the juncture where choice comes into play. You can choose the X or Y fork in the road.
The X represents react and the Y represents respond. As stated earlier, it’s how you respond to adversity that will shape your decision. The red colored section prior to the fork represents a decisive moment.
Choosing critical thinking allows one to move forward with intelligent, proactive behavior that leads to awesome results.
Choose the Y and place the image somewhere where it will trigger your intelligent, proactive thoughts, feelings, and actions when the yo-yo of life is in the down position.
You’ve got this.
Carpe Momentum.
