The Silent Heart That Speaks the Truth

Even When Powerless, Your Conscience Makes You Noble

By Rahat nazPublished 8 months ago 4 min read

You are truthful, you are good… if you do not possess power, if you are helpless in the face of circumstances, if you cannot speak out, but deep within your heart you stand by truth and justice know this: you are the one who is truly truthful, you are the one who is truly good.

If you see someone wrongfully depriving a helpless, voiceless person of their right, and you cannot stop them, your lips remain silent, but your heart aches, your eyes lower in shame, and you condemn the act in your heart then know, humanity still lives within you. You are still good. Because in a world filled with noise, the heart that silently mourns for injustice is not a dead heart.

You are truthful if you witness someone suffering a loss and cannot help prevent it or compensate for it, but with sincerity, you offer them kind advice, a word of wisdom, and wish them well from your heart. Your advice carries a goodness that often outweighs financial help because not everyone has wealth, but a good intention, sincere advice, and heartfelt prayers are treasures that, when given sincerely, reach and heal hearts.

You are truthful if you consider public property your own if you stop a school bench from being broken, prevent hospital taps from wasting water, and don’t let government electricity be used carelessly. You are truthful if you wish to minimize damage to public property, even if it’s being harmed by others and you cannot stop them, but deep within, you know it’s wrongthen know this: an honest citizen lives inside you, and that honesty is your truth.
You are truthful if you see someone in pain, someone grieving silently, and you don’t have money, time, or strength to help them but your heart feels their pain, your eyes well up, your chest sighs quietly then know, you are still human. The truth lies in the feelings you carry. Those who shut their eyes to others’ suffering may be free but they are not truly human.
You are good if you see a tyrant oppress someone, a powerful person crushing the weak, and you don’t have the courage to confront them but your heart declares them unjust, you hate their cruelty then your silence is not cowardice, but a limitation. And in your emotion lies the spark of rebellion. Every uprising is born from a deep ache, and every movement begins with a heart that feels.
You are good if you never wish harm upon anyone for your own benefit if your intentions are pure, if you choose honesty over deceit, if you are content with little and never sell your soul for more—then you are truly good. Truth is not only in what we speak, but in our actions, our behavior, and our inner thoughts.
Not everyone in this world has power. Not everyone can uphold the law. Not everyone has the strength to stand like a wall before cruelty. But truth does not only live in those who shout it also lives in the quiet souls whose hearts speak truth, who spread goodness through feeling, whose conscience is alive, and who fear their Creator.
That mother who eats less so her children may eat more she is truthful.
That teacher who, despite a low salary, dedicates herself to shaping young minds she is truthful.
That laborer who sweats all day and earns an honest living he is truthful.
That student who, even when given a chance to cheat, chooses to trust her hard work she is truthful.
Truth isn’t found only in words but in every small act born of a sincere heart and a pure intention.
You are good if you never intentionally harm others, even if it means you remain at a loss.
You are truthful if you support the truth with your heart, even when you cannot speak it aloud.
You are good if you cannot heal someone’s wounds but can at least pray for them sincerely.
You are truthful if, before sleeping at night, you reflect on your actions if you regret causing anyone pain, and seek forgiveness in your heart.
You are good if you carry within you that silent goodness that may go unnoticed by the world but brings peace to your soul.
In the eyes of the world, success may mean fame, wealth, and power but in the eyes of God, true success lies in sincerity, kindness, truth, and the purity of one’s intentions. One who speaks truth from the heart is a friend of God. They are a light on this earth, even if they live in darkness.
You are truthful if you try to improve yourself even if you cannot change others, you at least refrain from becoming cruel, dishonest, or selfish yourself.
This era may seem glittery on the outside but is hollow within. And if even a flicker of feeling still lives in your heart, if you still feel ashamed after a wrong, if you still have the courage to speak the truth even silently then you are truly fortunate.

So…
If you are helpless, but stand with the truth…
If you are voiceless, but your heart beats for goodness…
If your lips are silent, but your conscience is awake…
Then know this:
You are truthful. You are good.
