The Dream is to be a Full-Time Writer
Working from the comfort of my own computer and my own thoughts sounds magical

Imagine a world where your laptop is your tool for making a living.
Also, imagine needing to use your computer for no more than six hours a day. This is how it might feel to be a full-time writer. It’s been a dream of mine ever since I met people just like me who are making a living off writing.
The world has no limit. I know that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to, and right now that is writing. This is why I quit my full-time job to pursue running and a business and writing full-time.
I’ve come up with a few reasons why my dream is to become a full-time writer, and I’d like to share them with you.
It Pays the Bills
Life would be so convenient to be able to work from home or even on vacation to share your thoughts with the world. Not only would you get paid, but heavily compensated. Some of the top writers get paid $10k+ monthly and that’s more than six-figures a year! Incredible! If I make it to that point, then I’ll feel so fulfilled and the journey will all be worth it. Sure there are other things that are nice to accomplish in life, but to write-full time is the definition of my happiness and true fulfillment. When you’re happy with your relationships and work, nothing else that matters.
It can be incredibly scary to write full-time because there will be some months where views are down, or sales are low. Not everyone is going to make a killing as a full-time writer and stay on top forever, that is unless you’re Stephen King or Ayodeji Awosika. My point is that if you want to achieve a full-time writer status, then it’s going to have a lot of ups and downs. Success doesn’t happen overnight and, how can it? There are going to be days I’m so fulfilled, and others where I doubt myself. But I’ll keep pushing. We all do in anything we’re passionate about. That’s how we can breakthrough.
To grow even more as a full-time writer, I’ll continue reaching out to top-writers such as Matt Lilywhite and Ryan Fan because they’ve been incredibly inspirational and helpful. Maybe even one day, I’ll create a course, give some speeches, and take on new writing gigs for businesses. The opportunities are endless! There’s so much room to explore and experiment within the writing. It’s everywhere and that’s why it’s a dream of mine. I want my words to be in front of people. I want my messages to spark inspiration and happiness.
Influencer Status
Something I’ve always wanted to try and become is an influencer. Not someone who posts artificial photos on Instagram trying to flex everyone, but a genuine charismatic soul. Writers are thought leaders and full of inspiration. I want people to look up to me for guidance and trust my credibility. For that reason, I’m going to follow through with my goal to become a full-time writer and I can’t wait to reflect on the journey.
To leave a legacy for life after I die would make my life worth it. I want my writing to live on forever. My thoughts, my opinions, my guidance, all of it. I want people to remember my name. In a non-narcissistic way, I want all the attention because of the great things I’ve done and the positive messages I’ve shared with people. You may want to leave a legacy in writing too, and it doesn’t even have to be full-time. Some people write one story that resonates with the world, and that’s amazing.
Becoming an influencer as a writer could open up doors to becoming a YouTuber, running brand deals, affiliate marketing, and so much more. If I can somehow match the same caliber of creativity that Ayodeji Awosika and Tom Kueglar do, then I can die happy. Both men run their own blogs, YouTube channels, and courses on the internet. Absolutely brilliant. The opportunity is there!
The Brilliant Title of “Writer”
Having the title “Writer” listed as an occupation puts me on cloud nine. Even the thought of my telling someone that makes me feel incredibly elite. Like I’m an engineer in the Army, being a writer in regular life sounds majestic. I wouldn’t ever let the title define who I am deep inside, but I would wear it with honor as I go throughout life. There would be mixed emotions from different people. Some would support me for being a full-time writer, and others will believe I’ll fail someday. Neither opinion matters. All that matters is your own actions. If you want something so bad, then you’ll scratch and claw your way to get there.
When someone calls me “the writer” or “a writer” it fits me. It’s true. Whether on social media or on my blogging platforms, I am always writing. I prefer to let my thoughts and emotions come out rather than holding them in — especially since it can help someone going through the same things. If you don’t think holding “writer” as a title is maintainable, then you might not be as passionate about it as the few of us who are. It’s something that gives me fulfillment and the freedom to express everything going on inside of me. It’s the ultimate unlock to set you free from the cage we call our brains.
Sharing my job title and my full-on commitment to writing with my friends and family would blast my happiness into the stratosphere. When you want something so bad and know you’ll get there, but are also aware that it takes time, you’re being realistic. Realistically, it’s going to take me time. And I can speed up my learning curve. Brush up on my writing, and never stop writing daily. I can just imagine my loved ones’ faces when they look at me and hear that I am doing what I’m passionate about for a living. That’ll be the day we all celebrate big.
Final Thoughts
Becoming a full-time writer will take a lot of work. Not all top writers are natural talents. Many of them grinded for multiple years before taking it on as a full-time job.
I’ll hold onto this vision forever until I reach my destination.
Writing pays the bills, gives you influencer status, and gives you a brilliant title of “writer”. Stay the course, and let’s make it there together!
