The Black Book

Keona was a struggling single mother. She had two children. A boy named Lamar and a girl named Le’nae. The three of them went through many ups and downs but they always stuck together. Keona always dreamed of owning a big house with enough room and space for her children to grow in. Also, a breakthrough to overcome her financial struggles.

One day she decides to look for a house. She comes across a house online with a lot of rooms and space. Everything that she was looking for. She calls the number that was on the website. No one answered. She called the number again. No answer.

She calls it one more time. This time the phone goes dead. Something comes over her to go see the house. As she arrives, she notices the for-sale sign, but it had a different number.

Most people heard that this house had been for sale for over 15 years and a old man lived in this big house but he died. They say his spirit still resides there. Many were afraid to even come and visit and anyone that ever tried to get the home or come near it would be sent away.

That didn’t stop Keona. She felt something drew her to that house and she was determined to get it. She decides to go to the front windows in front of the house just to see if she could get a good peak on the inside. The house was not in a very good condition, but it had potential in her eyes.

One of the neighbors noticed that Keona and her two children were peeking through the windows. She yells, “you might want to get away from that house no one has ever been able to enter and neither are you it’s not for you”!

Keona ignores the lady and goes to the front door. The lady watches as she begins to twist the knob. The door opens. All three of them walk in. Keona shuts the door.

Now the lady she is shocked by what she has seen because no one had ever been able to enter the house. She runs back in her house and calls her friends and neighbors to let them know the news she just seen.

Keona and her children take a look around the house. She sees the old wallpaper that’s been stripped. Broken glass, old furniture, and a desk. She immediately falls in love. As she looks around at her dream home. She notices a small mysterious black book on the desk. She opens it and sees a code and a message that says, “It’s meant for you”.

She doesn’t know what it means, but she figures the code is to some type of safe. They begin to look around. They find nothing. She tells her children, “Let’s just give up. We can just live here and fix it up someway or somehow.”

As soon as she says that she looks over to her left and sees a box covered by a gold silk blanket. She snatches the blanket off and sees a safe box with buttons for a code. She thinks in her mind, “why am I the one who found this first.”

She types in the code slowly one number at a time. The code doesn’t work. She tries it again. It doesn’t work. She remembers that it took three times for her to call the number before it went dead. She closes her eyes and types in the code again. It opens. Her heart races as she opens the door to the safe.

Inside of the safe was a note and an envelope with $20,000. She reads the note, and the message was the same exact message she read in the little mysterious black book. It said, “Before I died my dream was to one day find a family that was suitable to have everything. It’s meant for you”.

Tears begin to fall from her eyes, and she rejoiced in the thought that her dream had finally come true.

The old man’s spirit came into the room as Keona was hugging and kissing her children. Feeling overjoyed by what she had received. She feels his presence and warmth, but she can’t see him.

He tells her, “I’ve waited a long time for you. I knew there was a family that needed a break. Also, who needed this more than I did. So many tried but did not meet the eye. Your heart and soul is pure. You have struggled long enough. Take everything because it’s all meant for you. Take care of your two. We’ll take care of the rest. Now I can rest”.

She tells the old man,” Thank you for everything. I have prayed for this for a long time”.

He says, “I know, but it’s over. You can rest now”.

She says, “I can’t thank you enough. It’s meant for me!”

He says, “Yes. It’s meant for you”.

His spirit disappears. His soul can finally rest. Keona, Lamar and Le’Nae begin to decorate and design the home to their comfortability. They painted the walls. Got new furniture and planted flowers to spruce up the yard.

They we’re the happiest they had ever been, and the home became the most beautiful home in the neighborhood. The news even wanted answers!

They lived happily ever after.
