The Art of Transforming pain into Passion
I discovered my passion when I decided to let go of my fears and search for my purpose in life. I have always been a passionate writer but never felt compelled to share my work until I personally experienced a life-changing moment.
I was going through a dark period in my life and needed an outlet to help me through my transition while I was in the process of reclaiming my life.
To be honest, I was broken and lost with nowhere to turn, I was filled with unresolved emotions and pain, with no resolution in sight.
I believe one of the most challenging things about coming out of a narcissistic relationship is building the courage to reclaim your own identity.
I had left my whole life behind for someone I believed I would share my life with, instead I was betrayed, assaulted and left alone to pick up the broken pieces. For six years I lived behind someone else’s shadow, at that point I had completely lost myself within that particular relationship. I was in need of a fresh start!
I'm sure you're wondering how this ties into my passion? Well, this is how I discovered the power of influence.
Before I became immersed with my passion, I was known for being the social butterfly who enjoyed spreading love and light. People often gravitated towards my positive energy and were very supportive during my difficult times. Naturally, I had always been someone who felt passionate about helping others, but then I became the one who was in need of help and I grew tired of being in denial.
I made the sound decision to get all the help needed in order to overcome the distress I was facing during that time. A journey that I assumed would have taken a few short months, turned into three years and I continue to grow each day.
With that being said, when I made the choice to embark on a journey to spiritual healing, I began documenting the very delicate and intimate details of my spiritual transformation. Many have questioned my transition and became receptive to my healing process and authenticity. They were very supportive and it began resonating with way more people than I could have ever imagined.
That’s when I noticed that I was not alone in the situation and just like many other women I was searching for a way to break the silence on domestic violence but felt my voice wasn't strong enough.
As I matured spiritually, I started praying and writing daily. What started as a personal journal, became devotional and has now developed into the daily word of encouragement I titled ‘The W.O.E.'
I currently use social media as my platform for blogging and bringing words of encouragement to anybody in need. I’ve learned the true power behind words and how important those words can bring influence into someone's life. It brings me joy to see how many lives I have touched over the years by sharing words of hope and positivity. My long-term goal is to expand my blog on my personal website and create self-help books, with potentially transitioning to podcasting.
In reference to that, nothing could have prepared us for the year 2020. This took a severe toll on my mental health, causing a major setback. Don’t get me wrong, I am truly grateful to be an essential worker, but the stress levels from the pandemic has allowed me to have a different perspective in life. Although I made great progress with helping others through encouragement, my faith and hope had literally run on empty. It became evident that darkness had overtaken the world and I needed a source of hope again.
Looking back on my life and all that I’ve accomplished, I still wasn’t satisfied with where I was at in life.
I’ve always envisioned a better life for me and my son, one filled with joy, hope and love; not one of despair. I wanted the opportunity to live out my dreams and be an example to my child in hopes he would fulfill his own dreams and aspirations. Then it came to me, the vision that would allow me to bring light back into the world and into my personal life. This is when I discovered my true calling and started my own home based candle business.
I was searching for ways to bring light, hope and peace back into the lives of others during difficult times, even if it was just a small glimpse of it. This venture has allowed me to embody all that I am and who I was called to be. I find pleasure in helping others and bringing joy to their hearts and souls in whichever way that is.
My vision is that anyone who receives a candle, may also receive the light of hope once it is lit. Whenever someone is going through a difficult time, I want them to be able to find a quiet spot, light one of my candles and feel the presence of peace as they meditate with aromatherapy.
My dream is to change the world one candle at a time. What seems like a farfetched dream to some, is within reach for me because I'm truly passionate about this project and am currently looking for ways to expand. Each candle is made from scratch, every aspect of it gives it a personal touch and feel, right down to the finishing touches. I love promoting my mantra which is to #bethelight and many people have naturally gravitate to this because I'm inspiring them to become the light in a darkness
My goal is to transform my passion into a full time living. Twenty-twenty has reminded me just how short life is and I want to pursue my passion with every ounce of hope within my being.
We often take the simple things for granted, like breathing, waking up, freedom and spending time with loved ones. I’ve learned we all have purpose dwelling inside of us and people support my cause because they understand that I have a passion to bring peace back to humanity. I make it a point to live by example and integrity.
Many who are inspired have seen me rise from a broken past and continue to see me flourish in the areas that I am passionate about.
I want to continue to lead by example and create a platform that will allow others to do the same. In the same way, I long to give back to the community that has helped me and raise awareness that supports women and children overcoming domestic violence.
I believe you will delight yourself in sponsoring such a worthy cause and in turn you too shall become a great light in a dark world.
