Any kind hearted and caring soul would take any opportunity to help, support, and uplift others, where they could. Be it a homeless person in the street, begging for money, or a devastated individual who lost their home to a bushfire, a friend or work colleague who is suffering from a debilitating health issue, or an elderly neighbor struggling to look after themselves, whatever the situation where someone is in need, it's the kind hearted and caring souls that are always there to help. Unfortunately, there are also many of us who also make assumptions and judgements about people, when it actually doesn't reflect the true story of that person, and their circumstances. For example, we see a homeless person in the street, and we instantly assume they are too lazy to get a job, that they are drug addicts, that they are alcoholics, and that they will spend any money handed to them on these addictions, or to buy cigarettes. Then there are some of us who often shy away from providing help to others, because we adopt this belief that we can't really make a genuine difference. We feel that performing such a small act of kindness isn't going to exactly help many people, so why bother? We seem to place this massive expectation on ourselves, that our acts of generosity, kindness, help, and support, must visually indicate that we are actually changing many people's lives, otherwise it's not worth our time and effort. We really would so love to make a difference in this world, and our focus narrows to trying to help everyone, but we end up completely overlooking the simplicity of being able to make a world of difference to even just one person. The thing is, if we really want to make a difference in the world, we only need to start by helping one person.
Any one of us have the power to make a huge positive difference in this world, whether we believe it or not. We may not be able to feed all the homeless, we may not be able to donate to all those facing financial hardship, we may not be able to assist all those in need of help, and we may not visually see the impact of our kindness, generosity, care, help, and support, in making a positive difference in this world, but if we start by helping just one person, we are making the world of difference to them, and that is more important than we will ever be able to comprehend. It's like with this Wind Of Change Now site I am running. I may not have millions of followers, I may not receive plenty of social media likes, I may not receive many comments, and I may not be Tony Robbins or Bob Proctor, but if I can help motivate and inspire just one person in this world, to pursue their goals, overcome their adversities, and go on to achieve a life of success and happiness, then all the time that I spend writing these blog entries will be all worth it. Perhaps I will never see such impact, but it's not about personal satisfaction, it's about having the character and purpose to always strive to be helping, uplifting, and supporting others. Whether we see it or not, our acts of kindness, generosity, and help, have a tendency to create a ripple effect. What this means is, in helping others, we sow that seed of behavior in others, and quite often, they end up going on to replicate that behavior, helping another individual, and so on. Their eyes become opened to the power and influence of helping and giving to others also. So, although we first believed to be generating next to no impact in this world, we in fact end up creating a movement of generosity and kindness. That's all it takes. It's not to say we should just identify one person to help or give to, and then our job is done, because we should take every opportunity to help anyone in need, wherever we can, but let's not adopt this belief that we aren't making a massive difference in this world. Identify an opportunity to help someone each day, no matter how insignificant you may feel that help may be personally, because that help may just mean the world to someone. Help and generosity isn't limited to those who possess wealth, we can actually give and help others by giving just a few dollars, or even give in the way of allocating some of our time to a good cause. So don't worry about going out to change the world, looking to become some superhuman who provides homes to all the homeless, food to all the starving, money to all the poor, and motivation to all the depressed. Start by helping just one person, but do it without seeking results. These acts of kindness, help, and generosity, should always be from the heart, with the aim of truly wanting to help anyone you see an opportunity to help, and without the expectation of receiving anything in return. You will find that generosity and kindness becomes the most fulfilling, satisfying, and rewarding, act you will ever do.
