Refurbished Renewals
Tire rims receive a feminine makeover

Something that I enjoy as a creative hobby and outlet that completely gives me peace is making wreaths. My favorite type of wreath to make is the upcyled tire rim. It's like Disney's take on princess wanna-be turns reality for cars and car parts that go from Tom-boy fatale to the ultimate girly-girl in a heartbeat, and surprise everyone else in an unrecognizable fashion that sticks forever in their minds, and awe-struck hearts.
I make them fun, seasonal, and with a bit of whimsy and glitter on occasion. I make them to sell, to decorate my own homes, and to enter contests. I refurbish tire rims and put them down the wreath runway for creative release, healing and changing my energy. I shift my focus, and the tire rim shifts gears, and learns it has a feminine side that has been suppressed under mysogyny leadership, design and direction for well over a century.
What happens to the lost, long forgotten tire rims after the man dies and his car is towed to the junk yard? When tires are changed out, who cares about the scrap of metal that protected and prolonged the life of the tire for as long as it lasted? It is tossed away and the owner forgets the purpose that clump of metal had, while they had the previous set of tires on the car, and they leave it behind, with the old set of tires to rust and be dumped into the garbage by the mechanics. Does anyone go searching for the abandoned tire rims (or hub caps, some call it; same thing) when an accident occurs, and the car part is left behind?
Well, I do! These refurbished tire rims are like little orphan Annie, meeting Daddy Warbucks and a new war-drobe to go with it! It's like Anne of Green Gables going from her one and only dress with the apron, to meeting Matthew and being given her coveted dress of PUFFED SLEEVES! And the transformative power of rust - turned MUST is the sensation of dancing with Gilbert Blythe at the Ball, and re enacting the scene with Diana Berry until their elation comes crashing down on them (and their four poster bed) literally beneath them, and laughing with mirth, pride and glee afterwards at their impressive (and depressive) accomplishments, both.
The hub caps have the capability of being reincarnated and feeling proud of both lives lived. From metal and rust, dirt, nicks and dings being worn with pride as they protected tires from rocks gravel other cars and the like - the life they lived was full and of important purpose, and suited them quite well in that state of metal vehicle armor. The man's side has a purpose, too!
And their new feminine state is a glorified ball gown that the hub caps could only previously possibly dream of or imagine, but now get to live in, be admired for - and protect and decorate the Holiday welcome door.
But perhaps the appreciation, adoration and admiration is too long overdo. Let them bask in, and embrace their new glory, for what it's worth! They've never been much less, even thanked for existing! It's about time that someone did this - both for them, and the new owners of such decorative beauties, both appreciative and needing of their services.
Enjoy my hobby of refurbished renewals!
