Parental status
Introduction:
Parents are the most dignified beings in creation. Their contributions and sacrifices are incomparable. In all religions, including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, respect for parents is given the highest place. The words of Rasoolullah (SAW) establish the fact that "child's paradise is under the mother's feet". Serving parents is not only a moral duty but also a God-given mandate. Parents are the only key to the welfare of our life. So parents should be given proper and due status. Raising awareness to protect the dignity of parents in our society is the need of the hour.
Parental Leave:
A mother endures many hardships from the first day of pregnancy. According to research, a mother loses an average of 500 hours of extra rest during pregnancy. In the first two years after birth, the amount of sleep a mother takes care of the baby drops to an average of only 4-5 hours per day. A father, on the other hand, spends an average of 3,000 working hours a year on child support. The father sacrifices all his happiness to meet the expenses of education, accommodation and medical care. According to a survey, 80% of parents in Bangladesh stop buying their own essentials for their children's education. So parents have to make huge sacrifices for a child.
Religious Instruction:
There are clear instructions in the Qur'an about the rights of parents in Islam: that, "Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him and treat your parents kindly" (Surah Bani Israel 17:23). It is stated in the Hadith Sharif that God's pleasure lies in the satisfaction of parents and God's displeasure lies in their displeasure. Hindu scriptures say: "Jani Janmabhoomisch Swargadpi Gariyasi". Buddhism says to respect parents as the first teacher. Honoring parents is ranked third among the Ten Commandments of Moses in Christianity. Finally, it is understood that all religions are giving the highest status to parents from their respective religions. So we should nurture parents more seriously.
Contribution to Society:
Parents are the first and foremost teachers of the society. According to a UNICEF report, children who grow up with loving parents do 40% better in school. According to American Psychological Association research, these children are 60% more socially successful later in life. In the context of Bangladesh, the rate of drug addiction is only 2% among young people who have a good relationship with their parents. This means that parents must be honest and fair. So that he can raise his child properly and beautifully. And children should also follow the right path shown by their parents.
Current Challenges:
In today's digital age, the sense of responsibility towards parents is diminishing. According to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics data, 58% of elderly citizens do not receive regular visits from their children. A study in the capital showed that 35% of young people do not check in with their parents more than once a week. According to the World Health Organization report, the rate of depression among the elderly in Bangladesh is 42% which is the result of parental neglect. Aging parents, i.e. when they lose strength and work capacity, the responsibility of children increases on them. And this responsibility should be properly fulfilled by a righteous child. So that they don't suffer. Then they should be given the appropriate status. We need to raise awareness in our society to protect the dignity of parents.
To do:
1. At least 30 minutes daily

Conclusion:
Parental debt cannot be repaid in any way. In their only satisfaction lies the success of the child in this life and the hereafter. In the social context of Bangladesh, we need to be more conscious to protect the dignity of parents. Let us pledge:
1. I will spend good time with my parents every day
2. I will provide everything they need 3. I will do everything necessary to find them
4. I will treat them well and honestly
5. I will give importance to their advice
6. Above all, I will make them smile
Because the satisfaction of parents is the greatest success.
