If 2020 didn't teach us anything else, it was how to stay comfortable, even when things were very uncomfortable in the world around us. I know a couple of friends and family who became infatuated with the whole idea that breathing in normal fashion felt like a crime. During that time period, I learned a very valuable lesson. Nostalgia Matters! Your favorite movies, tv shows and coming of age movies.

My mood altered from day to day during that time, and I wondered so many thoughts. From the increasing daily death toll to the morbid thought of if The "Rona" was going to get me. One day, I tuned into a classic episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and It was the one when Our Hero Will Smith, couldn't graduate high school unless he performed the song "You Are My Sunshine" with the kindergarten graduates. By the end of the episode, I feel like I was perfectly at peace and happy to enjoy yet another episode of this longtime running series. For that, I felt grateful. I mean everytime Julia Roberts does that epic laugh in "Pretty Woman" , I laugh too. I feel like I just went on that shopping spree!

How many times have we watched the same thing and felt inspired by them? If you have a low number, this short story is simply to remind you that those small nostalgic things matter to your mental health, and is another way to imagine the impossible. Think about it as Make Believe. You can pretend you are back in the 1980's while wearing your funky high ponytail watching the cult classic "Back to The Future" or Escape to The Lands of Africa and sing along with Simba in "The Lion King". I mean I'm not going to lie, it sounds very more playful and a bit childish, but add in a glass of wine and you've got yourself a party.

Since it is now 2021, we have moved in a new reality of masks and mandated laws. I feel like nostalgia is very important. Remind yourself of the good feels and the power of making yourself feel better. This gloomy world and the thought of making ends meet can be draining on its own, and many of people have lost their sense of being their own light through darkness. Nostalgia or Nostalgic means a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. Find your "Happy- Place"! Don't be consumed by this crazy place called Earth. Nostalgia, Ultra.
