No One Cares If You Fail

Stop Making Excuses!

By Spencer SchmidtPublished 4 years ago 4 min read
I Got You.

Have you ever felt a time where you were vividly painting a picture of your dreams and to someone... only to look over and see the overlooked expression on their face as they let your words flow through one ear and out of the other?

Sometimes you'll even call them friends or family that do this to you. The truth is a tough pill to swallow.. but they just don't care because they're more focused on their own shit. I've had plenty of these people come across my life, and that's what became one of the reasons I'm such a quiet person. If you know me in real life, unless you're in my network or one of my closest friends, then you know I'm an extremely quiet person. Not in a shy & awkward way but in a way where I'll listen to everything people want to say, because I'm a caring person. If I spend the time to listen to you on a regular basis to hear your vents or frustrations or dreams and goals.. then you're an important person in my life.

BUT another big reason why I stay as quiet as I do is to save my own breath and energy from speaking to people who couldn't give a rats behind what I was doing. They'll call you their friend, brother, sister, best friend. In reality they don't care unless you're rich or famous. Unfortunately a lot of people never take the time to interact with others on a genuine note because it's always about themselves. Not that being selfish can't be useful in a lot of ways in life progression, but when you can't seem to care about the people taking the time to talk to you about that type of stuff, it'll show.

The Awesome thing from seeing people like that however, is the fact that it shows you who you want around before your life gets big and who you don't feel deserve to be around. Real friends and family are around for everything.

"Ride with the ones you Walked with, Dine with the ones you Starved with."

I take my time on this Earth as the utmost important asset in my life. Nothing else comes close to the importance of your time, because you can always make money back and you can always get to your goals throughout life but you never get time back on your side. Your teens are already gone, You're starting your young adult life (for most of us) and you're already mapping out your future and career. You don't get to restart and take time back from regretting or mistakes you wish you could fix. That's the tough pill to swallow for many but it's a pill a lot of you are long-awaited for.

Regret is my Number ONE fear. Nothing comes close to the idea of regretting because it's something in your past that can't be redone. I have very little regrets in my life but I have 3 Outstanding regrets at the moment. One is a past section of my life I don't get the opportunity to rebuild, the second is a past chapter of my life I ruined without even seeing it happen in my face until it was too late. The third one is something I live with everyday that I'm striving to wipe off my board to clear it down to just two regrets.

Use regret as a motivation for your future. The next time someone doesn't pay you the time of day that you would head-over-heels do for them, then you need to change that relationship or set yourself for the next chapter of your life without them. Your life is a precious thing that only comes once, and time is forever bleeding on until it flashes before our eyes and it's over. One awesome thing I like to think about is the old "YOLO" meme. Yolo is a town in California by the way so I'm sure they had a lot of popularity when that was as hyped as it used to be. Anyways, YOLO stands for "You Only Live Once" which can technically be seen as true, but it's just the same perspective as "Is the glass half full or half empty?". You only live one LIFE.. yes, but you LIVE every single day of your life. That's a decision by you every time you wake up to live your life the way you do.

You DIE Once. You Live everyday; your future & destiny are in the literal mindset of your brain. You can achieve what you set to believe. It happens over and over by entrepreneurs all across the world every single day. Simple Joe's like you and me just sitting around relaxing because we think our 9-5 job is killing us and our "life situation" is so much different from everybody else's that we can feel comfortable with our excuses to not try or not better our lives. If you hate your lifestyle, where you live, your job, your daily routine and how broke you are... and you drink 5$ starbucks drinks or have 12-60$ subscriptions to shit that you use to distract yourself from life.. then you're SOFT. You aren't going through a tough time, you're just giving up before trying. Nobody cares what you have to say until you're rich and famous. At that point in your life, it's your choice at who's in it, and who you see is valuable enough for your time on this Earth because it's limited.

No Pauses.. No Restarts.. No Second Chances. Build The Life You Have The FULL Capability Of Building.

I Want To See It In Action!

Thank you for taking the time to read another story from myself. This one was a bit harder to write just based off the paragraph of regret but it is something I've learned to use as motivation to never regret again.
