It is also known as "Nha Trang Mountain Church" because it is situated on the top of Hoang Lan Hill, or "Nha Trang Six-Way Intersection Church" due to its location at the Thai Nguyen six-way intersection. The official name of the church is Christ the King Cathedral.

This is a famous tourist destination in Nha Trang and a source of pride for the Catholic community. The church is also listed as one of the historical and scenic sites of Khanh Hoa Province. The History of the Construction of Nha Trang Stone Church

The history of Nha Trang Stone Church began in 1885 in Nha Trang, when the number of Catholics was still very small, and the population was sparse, consisting of only a few fishing villages along the coast. At that time, the faithful often gathered for prayers at the Cho Moi Parish.

In 1886, when the French colonialists invaded Nha Trang, they established the Pasteur Institute and the Oceanographic Institute. Recognizing the need for a place of worship for the French and local Catholics, the authorities built a small chapel by the seaside.

Father Louis Vallet (1869–1945) made great efforts to build Nha Trang Stone Church to spread Catholicism and inspire faith among the people. On September 3, 1928, the construction of the Stone Church officially began. It was designed in the style of Western churches, standing 12 meters high, 36 meters long, and 20 meters wide.

To honor Father Louis Vallet's contributions, the community laid his tomb at the foot of the Church Hill after his passing, as a way to express their gratitude.

One of the highlights of Nha Trang Stone Church is its bell tower. The tower houses two bronze bells crafted by Bourdon Carillond, a renowned French manufacturer. These two bells produce distinct sounds: one resonates in C and A, while the other chimes in E-flat. When rung together, their harmonious tones create a resonant and deeply moving symphony.

If you look up at the bell tower, you will notice four large clocks mounted on its sides. These clocks are visible from afar, allowing people to easily check the time even from a distance.
