Doses of Motivation

1. One way to avoid wasting all our time on social media, internet, YouTube etc. is to first do what we need to do and then check these platforms at the end of the day. This way we won’t constantly be checking our social media every minute.

2. In life, we need both skills and challenges. If we have too much challenges but lack skills, we may become anxious and stressed. But if we have too much skill and no challenge, we may become bored and depressed (derived from the idea of flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, who I encourage others to listen to as well)

3. Some things to avoid: wasting time, illicit intermingling with the opposite gender, feeling arrogant, feel self-righteous and feeling hopeless.

4. One way to be happy is to live and be happy and content in as less as we can. Otherwise, we will need to maintain our luxuries and spend time, energy and money maintaining them.

5. Real joy in work enters us when we are completely immersed in our task and fully focus on it and do it for the sake of doing it, not for any other reason.

6. If we do something to get others attention, then we lose our own attention. So we shouldn’t work to get others attention, rather we should be focused on what we do.

7. If someone thinks that we necessarily need the most modern technology to make money, the we should remember that the market wouldn’t need something that a computer can already do.

8. My experience tells me that eating a lot makes us sluggish, lazy and the brain and body slow down and so does productivity.

9. Only heating and frying food makes it tasty. Gold is purified after being heated. Sword only sharpens after it takes the heat and the hits. So us humans also truly develop, grown and better ourselves when put in difficulty. Difficulties are an opportunity to grow and develop. They make us better. But the challenge should be according to our skill, otherwise we become anxious and stressed. Although challenges themselves develop our skills, but certain skills that we already have help us overcome several challenges. On the hand, someone with a lot of skill and no challenge is a bored and depressed person.

10. The desire of humans to organize: Our desire is not only to organize our physical surroundings such as cleanliness. We also like to organize things like our notes, our tasks, and on the larger scale our knowledge. As knowledge opened up and we discovered more, we organize them into subjects and each subject is further sub-organized. Some people are better at organizing events, others at organizing their personal life, others are organizing companies etc. Things are easy to access due to organization. Otherwise, we can’t find stuff easily.

11. Success will never be a big step in the future, success is a small step taken just now.” ― attributed to Jonatan Mårtensson on https://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/6470467.Jonatan_M_rtensson

12. Thinking and reflecting without knowledge and experience can be a thinking without the ‘tools’ and this means that although its good to think, but the more knowledge we get, the more streamlined our thinking becomes and we know better in what direction to think. But of course, our intentions also have to be correct to think correctly.

13. Human beings are a gifted creation. We have been given a unique body stature and a faculty of reasoning and thinking. And the entire universe serves us. We use the resources in the universe and our intellect to create ease and comfort for ourselves and we subjugate the universal resources and other creation such as animals and plants for our use. It would be really foolish for us to waste away our intellect and time and thus prove ourselves unworthy of the high position that we’ve been created in.

14. Man can forget his weaknesses during good times. Therefore, fasting is a good reminder that he is not independent. Fasting can help prevent him from forgetting this reality. This is because we feel weak and in need of food and drink.

15. Motivation can inspire from our interest in something. The end goals pulls us towards it and the hard work in between becomes easy when we imagine the end goal. So for example, if someone wants to become a heart surgeon, this will allow him to work hard for years to study medicine. If someone wants to become an athlete, he will train hard easily for years because he can imagine his end goal. Similarly, if someone is inspired to study space or earth, he will work hard to study mathematics and physics because he is wondered by the beauty of space and the earth.

16. Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending – attributed to Maria Robinson online.

17. The harder you go at a thing, the harder it reacts. Hitting a wall hard gives a harder reaction. The harder/faster you learn, the faster you forget. So if we are gentle to people, they will be gentle to us. And if we understand while we study, we will retain knowledge better.

18. Environment definitely has an effect on us. If we go in perfume shop, we will definitely smell perfume. So we should have good company. But we can close our nose in dirty area so we should be cautious in a bad company.
