Motivate Yourself

Motivation

Motivation is not just about some external urge to do more and achieve more. Instead it’s something that helps you stay focused on your goals and get things done. Sometimes, motivation can be tricky to find. But when we have enough confidence in ourselves, we can overcome this hurdle and achieve our dreams.

Motivation doesn't have to work hard. A lot of people will find that they become unmotivated when things aren't going well. This happens at times because of many reasons. One reason could be they don't like any particular area they might be feeling unmotivated to. They like doing their best to accomplish things, but may not enjoy what they are doing. It can also happen as a result of different factors such as laziness or low self-esteem.

It’s always nice to feel inspired when we are motivated and able to move forward. However, sometimes, we get so far and we end up not achieving anything because of lack of motivation.

Here are 3 tips to help keep yourself motivated.

The first thing to remember is, you need a plan. If you want to motivate yourself, you need to set out a clear path for yourself. For example, if you want to write a blog post each week, write down how much time you want to spend writing a blog post and the type of content you will want to create. Then write down how much money you need to make those posts, and how much time you would like to dedicate writing that content. You can then set aside an allowance of specific times and amount of money which you can use on different projects. Some people might choose to write every day of the week or every other day or even every two days. Either way, you need a plan for this which will ensure your focus is there.

The second thing to remember is that when you have to think about doing something, start small and then try to take it a step further. This helps with staying focused, not only does it give you a sense of achievement, but you don't get overwhelmed. Once you start, then you can see whether you're being too ambitious and over-task yourself. Or if you'm being too generous. Whatever it takes to get started, give it a crack. It'll help you stay motivated too.

The third thing to remember is, the mind isn't like clay. It's made up of cells and nerves all over it. The brain is plastic, meaning it's constantly changing, which makes it feel less important. So to keep yourself motivated, you need to change your mindset about yourself. Change the way you look and feel. Try getting a new haircut and working out. Take care of yourself first before making any major changes in your life. The last tip is to practice positive reinforcement every few days and to remind yourself of the good things you have. There are plenty of ways to practice these.

So how can we encourage ourselves to stay motivated? Here are some simple suggestions that will help boost your self-confidence levels.

Give yourself permission to love your job

There are many jobs out there and although people might enjoy doing them, at times they get tired of doing them. Most people find themselves wanting to do more once they've got the job. This can feel like you're over-doing yourself and you need to learn the job. Your happiness for the job would mean nothing without you having the right mental attitude. It's okay to enjoy the job, but you can only do so much work and enjoy what you do. Make sure your mental attitude is positive. Do what you want to do. Set goals and aim for success. As a person, you control yourself, so when you have set your own goals, you should enjoy what you do.

Set short-term goals. Set daily goals and try to achieve them. By setting short-term goals, it means you will try to complete some tasks in order to improve yourself. Being positive about the process helps to keep you motivated. You can learn things as you progress on the task and will gain confidence when you reach a goal. Set a timer and break down your targets into smaller steps. Set some achievable goals which you can meet. Setting realistic goals helps to keep you motivated. To stay motivated you need to be confident, so set achievable goals that you could achieve. Don’t let anything hold you back from reaching your goals. Think positively. Positive thinking boosts your self-confidence and self-respect. If you make a list of things to focus on, try to do one and then start a new one. Focus on the things you can control (your mindset), and stay motivated by keeping positive thoughts in your head. Try to avoid negative thoughts. Negative ideas are a great source of negativity which will make you feel unmotivated which will make you lose the drive to succeed. Focus on your mental health (how happy you are) and be comfortable in your body. Have fun! Just because you make yourself happy doesn’t mean you have to become a bad person. Be friendly. Be nice to others. Show that you are kind and you are open to new things in life. People have a tendency to judge people who like to socialize - especially people who like to socialize a lot - but it's better to be friendly than to be judgmental. Keep reminding yourself how beautiful you are and feel good. Keep a smile on your face and always feel like you're doing something productive. Get involved in activities where you feel good and get involved. Whether this be sports, acting, music or any other form of entertainment. Get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to make yourself feel like a different person. Do things for people rather than on your own. Help out more people instead of giving them. Always keep a balance between self-care and work. Work hard because you need to. Successful people have made sure they never rely on anyone else. In order to stay motivated you need to give yourself permission to do whatever it takes to succeed, to change yourself and you need to keep yourself in check.

Everyone has a natural ability to stay motivated - so start using yours today. Staying motivated comes easy to everyone. Use these three tips and you can keep yourself motivated to achieve just about anything.
