Looks Like A Good One, Well Done Vocal, You Have Proven To Have Listened
Being seen and heard
What is there left to say but thank you.
What am I talking about?
I've been a paying member here on Vocal since 2020, although to begin with, I was not much of an engaging person. Perhaps it was because I had just suffered from the negative effects of Covid-19, and having realized that the combination of suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (when I was much younger in life) and that the two events, had left me with permanent physical disabilities.
I will never really know but, what I do know is that having access to the Vocal platform has now helped me to stabilize emotionally.
The other day I was pleasantly surprised to discover a notification in my jungle of emails from Vocal, advising me that I had received a comment on one of my articles that I had written some time ago.
A pleasant surprise to say the least.
But wait, there's more.
Logging into my Vocal account I noticed another change to the platform too. Notifications. Yes, it appeared that when I clicked on it, I had to my surprise, 68 system messages, alerting me to the fact that no less than 68 other articles had been published by members that I had subscribed to.
As someone who has taken up writing full-time now ever since I received the bad news that I was unable to work anymore, in a career that I had devoted 32 years of my life to, it is a terrific boost to see that Vocal has now finally developed these two new features to their growing community here.
Up until these new features were encoded into the platform, admittedly, it was always somewhat too much like playing a guessing game, to see who of your subscribers had published and when they had done so. The only eyes on your literary creations simply appeared to be when you posted what had been published, onto other social media sites, hopefully where you were able to cast your net wider out there to get your writing read.
Just like fishermen going out to sea and dropping their nets widely into the ocean depths, in the hope that they would catch some unsuspecting fish.
That's precisely what it was like here when you typed up your latest piece of writing. You would submit your piece and wait for it to be published, then you would (in the same way as that net) share that story onto other media sites, hoping to ensnare your readers that way.
Congratulations Vocal on a job well done.
Now I can see when someone puts eyes on what I have written, and likewise, I am able to discover whenever one of my subscribers has had their article published here too.
This is what establishing and growing a true community is all about. For me, and I am certain that I am not alone in this, many other Vocal members will surely feel the same way too. Vocal have made it more of a real-time interactive platform, by adding these two new powerful features here.
I have to admit that, I have tended to favor other writing platforms with which to create and publish my creative works.
Why?
Because if I am going to write then I want to capture as many eyes on my pieces as I am able to get. Is that not what we all want to aim for after all?
After all:
Eyes on articles = Time read
Time read on an article = Earnings
Before these new features of emails and online platform notifications, you might as well have been simply pretending to search for that illusive needle in the haystack, for all the good it proved to be in attempting to see if another reader had read an article of yours and/or even commented.
These new advances in improving the Vocal platform has definitely changed my mind, and I am now once again, eager to write more here that I ever used to.
Because now, the Vocal platform has truly attained what is a real functional and interactive community.
