Jinn: The Invisible Beings That Walk Among Us
A True Story That Will Make You Think Twice Before Sleeping Alone at Night

Jinns: The Unseen Creatures Living Among Us
There are many things in our lives that we cannot see, yet we feel their presence deeply. Among them are the jinn — mysterious beings whose name alone can send a shiver down the spine. But are they real or just folklore? Do they truly live among us? Can they harm us? And most importantly — how can we protect ourselves from them?
The Holy Qur’an and authentic Hadith confirm that jinn are a true creation of Allah. They were created from smokeless fire, long before humans.
As mentioned in the Qur’an:
“And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.”
(Surah Ar-Rahman: 15)
This proves that jinn are not imaginary. They exist just as humans do, except they are hidden from our eyes. They see us, but we cannot see them — unless they choose to appear in some form, or Allah wills.
There are various types of jinn. Some are righteous, others are wicked. Some like to bother humans, while others live in isolation, minding their own world. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that there are three kinds of jinn:
1. Those who fly in the air.
2. Those who appear in the form of snakes or dogs.
3. Those who move from one place to another.
In old times, the elders used to know more about them. I remember an elderly man in our village who often claimed that he had a "jinn friend" who gave him information. As a child, I found this laughable — until something strange happened to me.
It was one unbearably hot night. The fan was off, electricity gone, and the whole house was in eerie silence. Everyone was asleep except me. I lay in the courtyard, staring at the sky. Suddenly, I heard a whisper — like someone softly blowing in my ear. Startled, I got up and looked around. No one was there. I lay down again, and felt an icy chill touch my feet — as if someone had placed ice on them. Terrified, I ran inside. My father immediately gave the call to prayer, recited verses from the Qur’an, and blew over the entire house. The next morning, I told the old man. He simply smiled and said, “That was a greeting from the jinn. But don’t worry — no harm will come to those protected by the Qur’an.”
That night changed me. From that day forward, I began taking the unseen world seriously. The truth is: jinns can only frighten those who forget Allah. If someone is regular in prayer, recites Surah Al-Baqarah, and remembers Allah morning and evening — jinn can never harm them.
Many people ask: why do jinns bother humans? The answer is simple — just as there are good and evil people, there are good and evil jinn. Some are mischievous and attack when humans are vulnerable — like in states of extreme anger, impurity, or disobedience.
This is why the Prophet ﷺ taught us to recite the following prayer before entering the bathroom:
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the male and female devils.”
This protects us from evil influences.
Signs of jinn influence include sudden fear, dark thoughts, disturbing dreams, constant fatigue, or whispering in the mind. If someone experiences such symptoms repeatedly, it’s time to turn to spiritual healing — Qur’an, remembrance, and seeking help from trusted scholars.
Never forget — the best defense against the jinn is strong faith, sincere worship, and constant connection with the Qur’an. Without these, one becomes vulnerable. With them, no creature — seen or unseen — can harm you.

Conclusion:
Jinn are real. They walk this earth just as we do — yet remain invisible to us. The key is not to fear them, but to fear the One who created them. As long as we hold on to our faith and keep our hearts connected to Allah, no jinn, no man, can overpower us.
Now ask yourself: Are you truly alone? Or is someone watching you right now?
