Why to ask questions?

Questions have a great way of letting us introspect and help us find answers to things that bother us. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly evaluate and ask certain questions to self, for self-growth and upliftment.

This can be done by asking questions to oneself like: What is your purpose in life? What do you strive to achieve? What is it that motivates you to move ahead in life?

Furthermore questions like: Are you happy with the way your life is at present? Would you consider making any changes to it? Looking back to a few years earlier, are there any decisions that you are proud of? Are there any regrets in your life?

Continue probing more by asking: Do you have any kind of fears? Have you already overcome them? If not, how do you plan to overcome them?

Some more important questions are: What about your friend's circle? Do they inspire and motivate you? Are you happy with the people you associate and connect with? Have you associated with someone just for personal gains?

Check to see: Have you hurt others by your behavior? If yes, have you apologized? If not, what is it that’s stopping you from doing so?

What is Freedom? No idea - ask questions!

"Becoming aware of the inner dialogue that happens in your mind all day every day is the first step to a new kind of freedom." - Unknown

Finally, If there’s just one thing that you could change about yourself what would that be? Do you wish for any changes in your life partner? Do you think, those changes would make your life better than what it is today?

Are you a person with a positive outlook on life? What things make you get distressed easily?

All the above questions and their answers have a direct effect on our life. Therefore, spending time to understand each one of them is very important.

What happens when we stop wondering?

It would mean we accept things at face value. We do not question, challenge ourselves. When there’s no self-assessment in one's life, one may take life for granted. Life continues with the same monotony and becomes boring.

A different perspective

There are people who question themselves, but more so when they regret their earlier decisions. They then indulge in blame games.

I would personally say, it’s good to look back on one’s life and see how it has been to you. One should thank God for all the good decisions taken, for life has been fair to you.

Perhaps you had someone with you during your low moments who encouraged you to make the decisions you did. These can be referred to as angels sent to help you when you needed them the most.

If, however, you regret any wrong decisions taken, let it be a warning, to not repeat them again. Very rarely, does life offer a second chance, but if you do get it, make the most of it then.

Experience is something one gains over a period of years. When young, we don’t have any experience, but, at times, are too stubborn to listen to our elders. On the other hand, by the time we gain experience, we are no longer young but have matured.

So, by the time we understand the elder generations' reasons for their behavior, we have another generation waiting to look down on us.

Always remember that,

"The only source of knowledge is experience - Albert Einstein"

Perhaps, this is what many refer to as the generation gap.
