How to Stop Taking Things for Granted and Feel Blessed
"I count my blessings every day, quite frankly, because I don't take anything lightly." ~ Mario Andretti
"I count my blessings every day, quite frankly, because I don't take anything lightly." ~ Mario Andretti
You know that feeling.
When you feel bad about yourself for not being thankful enough. Maybe not often, but definitely sometime.
He's busy working hard, trying to make things work. He is busy with life.
However he sees a nine-year-old drawing a picture holding a brush with his toes. He has no hands.
And it hits you: You're too busy trying to make your life better, forgetting that it's already good. You feel guilty about not being happy enough.
How Do I Find My Hidden Blessing in Life?
When I went to college it was the first time I left home and went to a different city. My parents were concerned about how I would adjust to life in New Delhi. But I was happy. I wanted to do this.
When my college life began, I faced a dilemma: I was unable to manage my expenses. I had no idea how to spend money wisely. Until then, my parents had taken care of everything.
The unspoken message used to say, "Focus on your studies, and we'll take care of your needs."
Middle-income families do not need money, but costs are always limited. So when my ten-day ten-day assignment expired, I was shocked. Exploring the city with new friends, eating delicious food at restaurants, buying Nike pants all contributed to my downfall. Awaiting the scolding, I told them what had happened.
But there was no mention, just confirming "I'll put in more money today."
A few weeks later, the same thing happened. I was sure that this time they would get angry. But they did not. They just poured more money.
That's when I realized: My parents really loved me, but I didn't take it seriously.
They always supported me. Caring for me. Love me.
I was not a bad child, and I knew they cared about me. But now I felt blessed. Their presence was one of my favorite gifts. The fact that they loved me unconditionally revealed my ignorance.
Why Do We Really Take Things?
Our minds run unchecked all the time, either waiting for a better future or regretting the past.
We are always waiting for a good holiday, the next promotion, a lot of money, and much more. We thought, "One day when X happens, I'll be happy."
Or we may regret the past, such as the end of a relationship, the loss of a job, or financial difficulties. We thought, "If X had not happened, my health would not have been so bad."
But whether in the future or in the past, there is one place our minds are not.
The present tense.
And that is where our blessings dwell.
How Can You Stop Procrastinating and Feel Blessed
When I get a cold, I realize how wonderful it is to be healthy. When there is a thunderstorm on the day I plan to go out, I see a happy, sunny day and a cool breeze on my face.
Because our minds tend to run wild, we do not realize that our focus is not on where we are. Almost always elsewhere.
But hidden blessings are available now, if you can take a step back and be aware of where you are.
Seriously, do this.
Watch yourself reading this post. Be aware of the surrounding environment. I'll give you a moment.
….
This is your real life. Here are the blessings hidden in your eternal mind.
Ask yourself: What are some good things that have brought me here today?
You can start with the fact that you can read. She is smart enough to follow blogs like Tiny Buddha. What about your best friends? Your pet? Your health?
What else?
As with time, blessings are limited.
Growing up, I attended school with many children from wealthy families. It would be easy to focus on what other students have that I lack, such as new lunch boxes and luxury bags.
However, I had nothing to do with grief or sadness. In fact, I had fun at school. Why did I have fun, even though I had fewer things than others? I saw how lucky I was.
My parents grew up in the countryside and received a basic education. And of course, they were smart enough to understand the importance of a good education, and they made sure my sister and I attended the best English city school.
Now, that's a blessing.
I did not feel unlucky. I feel that my parents have done their part wonderfully.
Time for me to do my own thing.
Hidden challenges in life are some of the most wonderful blessings. The difference is in how you view them.
You can write down everything you don’t have and feel sorry for it.
Or you can set those same goals and goals, pursue them in love, and build a bigger character.
A Time for Thanksgiving, A Time to Love
Yes, there will always be things you want to do. There are goals to be achieved. The future certainly promises better things.
But you know what?
For now, too, is the gateway to hidden gifts.
At the bottom of your normal life is a hidden treasure of countless blessings. Each of those blessings has helped you to reach your full potential today. They play an important role in shaping your life into the best of art right now.
So go now.
Tell your mother that you love her.
Pat you are an animal.
Thank your friends for your appearance.
Celebrate life. Here. Right now.
Go live.
