How To Become A Real-Life Jedi
By Evan J. Wenning

So you want to be a Jedi?
Well if you are reading this, you've come to the right place. It is very well known that the fictional, lightsaber-wielding, super high jumping characters from George Lucas's widely known and super freaking popular books and movies we all know as Star Wars are, well, fiction. However, I as a Star Wars geek like to come up with a whole bunch of ways on how to make certain things from Star Wars that people remember the series by a reality. Just think about it. What if we could use science and biology to bring Star Wars into the real world? How crazy would that be!? Below are some pretty interesting facts on exactly how to do just that. There are two types of the force that we can use in the real world:
1. The Physical Force
For the Physical Force, take jumping around at insane velocities, for example. While it is true that the average human being can only jump 241 cm (the same as 6 ft, which is actually pretty good), I have come up with a few little scientific as well as biological ideas of my own which allows the human being of the average world to use the force in a whole new meaning. Among these are an idea I like to call momentum propelled shoes. Imagine wearing shoes that had two springs on the bottoms of the soles, with a bottom beneath the springs themselves. The springs being protected by a cloth wall that raps around them, resulting in something that would look like what you would see a goth girl wear; those super high shoes that basically look like a shortened version of stilts. However, do not mistake their look for their capability! Wearing something like these would definitely be a benefit for activities such as parkour. Imagine flying through the air and scaling obstacle courses with ease, giving you the full meaning of how it feels to jump like a Jedi.
Now that we've jumped out of that topic, what about making things float? When it comes to this, the mind can't help but rear down to the thought of magnetism. The ancient Greeks were the first to discover this force, and they called it magnetism because of its ability to affect the movement of other magnetic objects from various distances away, as well as cling to them without any glue. Crazy stuff! There was later a man named William Gilbert who decided it was time to put it into some good scientific use when his shoes got stuck to a rock. He found out that it was the nails on the soles of his shoes that were attracted to the magnetic minerals of the rock itself. Again: crazy stuff! Yes, magnetism is the closest thing and that we can officially dub a body of the Physical Force. And the same goes for the ability to leap high up in the air, with a little bit of technology.
2. The Psychological Force
Among the momentum propelled shoes and super dope magnetism are a few other ideas on how to take the super power 'the Force' and turn it into a reality. Since we have just gone over the scientific possibility of realitizing the force at a physical stance, this next topic will be about doing it at a psychological stance. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Evan, there is no freaking way! In fact the moment I see a bantha fly through the air on four of your little shoes, then I will believe you 100%." But wait! Read on, and my explanation will give you a little insight on this crazy thing that I'm about to tell you. This is where we move on to what I call the three bodies of the Psychological Force:
1. Intuition
Intuition is used when someone can gather hints of an event that is about to take place or of an event that has already happened. Detectives have been widely known to use intuition to piece together the events of the past to solve all sorts of mysteries. It's what makes a Jedi smart. And it also makes it a body part of the Psychological Force.
2. Peripheral vision
Peripheral vision is where the human eye can see things that are to the side of the center of sight. It's the ability to see things without actually looking at them. You'll find that many Jedi have the ability to notice things without focusing on them head-on, and here we have yet another body of the Psychological Force.
3. Reflex
Ever wonder why Jedi are able to act so quickly, even reflect laser bolts or swings? It's because they've trained themselves to register an event that's happening and act quickly to it. This is achievable to anyone 100%. It just takes a lot of time and practice. If you practice this, pretty soon you'll be able to master it and it can really become a huge benefit to your life. In fact, who knows! Maybe an accident would be about to take place and reflexes kick in, giving you the chance to even save a life! Again, yet another body of the Psychological Force.
Though it's true we humans can't move things with our minds or levitate things with our hands, we can definitely find ways to bring the Force to a reality using these tactics. While the Physical Force is pretty dope, The Psychological Force I personally believe is more important because it can benefit the human body and mind and become an immensely great asset in everyday life. I believe that anyone can do it and I promise that if you try these activities out, you will be well on your way to becoming a real-life Jedi.
