How Falling in Love with Failing Changed My Life

Change your mindset from "I suck at this" to "let's fix this"

I always hated failing, but when I finally started embracing it, everything in my life changed. Failure isn't the end of your story; it's a new beginning.

It wasn't until I stopped fearing failure that I realized how much power it has to change the course of your destiny.

As a child, failure was something I dreaded and avoided at all costs. It took me years to realize the benefits of embracing a little bit of risk and taking chances with what I want out of life.

If it weren't for these failures, then I might not have discovered what I love to do or what makes me happy.

I hope I can inspire you to take risks when you feel like everything is going wrong because unique opportunities are waiting for you on the other side!

Fearing failure will get you nowhere

But let's take things from the start.

Unfortunately, we are taught from a young age to admire success, but no one tells us which road we have to take to get there.

Success isn't some kind of jackpot. You have to work hard at something and fail time after time to reach success.

Ouch, that sounds painful. Right?

Actually wrong, this is the path that leads in the right direction.

No one tells us that failing is a part of the process of learning, and it shouldn't feel embarrassing.

We should be encouraged to take risks and not feel like we're incompetent as a result.

Successful people failed too many times and still do

If you think that successful people are born perfect, you're wrong. When I was young, I used to believe that they had some kind of a Midas touch. They could just touch something and turn it into gold.

Well, that is as far from the truth as possible. Even successful and famous people are...people.

They started as amateurs and gradually become better at what they do after failing.

Their secret is that they never gave up, no matter how much they failed, no matter what other people told them, no matter how long it took to get somewhere.

Staying on track is what makes the difference. Most people at some point give up. Successful people keep going no matter what.

If you don't believe me, listen to successful peoples' stories

Did you know that Oprah Winfrey was fired from her job as the news anchor for a Baltimore TV station?

Or that Richard Branson's first two companies both failed and were shut down because of his own mistakes.

Stephen King received 30 rejections for "Carrie".

Steven Spielberg, the director of “E.T” and other successful movies, was rejected from film school three times which would have meant he never made it in Hollywood's competitive industry.

All these famous people and many more proved everyone wrong.

Successful people all started at one point with nothing but an idea or some basic skills.

The difference between them and other people is perseverance...

This is a valuable lesson, and that is why I love to read biographies (preferably autobiographies) because these people share their life with you and show you what they had to go through.

These are lessons money just can't buy. Use these books to learn from the best.

It's time to break the taboo of failing

It's time to break the taboo of failing because it can adversely affect all areas of our life, not just your career but everything else too...

I used to be so afraid of failure that it paralyzed me. What if people saw that I wasn't good at what I was doing? What would they say, think, do?

These thoughts led me to quit whatever I was doing something that was difficult. Until one day, after many podcasts, books, YouTube videos, I realized what happens behind the curtain.

Everyone is afraid, but some people just decide to face fear no matter what.

"What if I just keep going? I'm not going to die", I thought.

If everyone laughs at what I am doing, so what. I can only become better if I keep trying. Unfortunately, there is no magic way to succeed. You can't just wave a wand and hope for the better.

All you need to do is keep trying.

At that point, I understood that it was time for me to take a deep breath and go.

Now I know that when things don't work out, I try a different approach to things.

It doesn't mean that it's the end. I started thinking out of the box, and it really helped me boost my confidence.

The truth is failures are what make us better...

They teach important lessons which will make future endeavors to be successful. Embracing them might just change your whole perspective on things.

So what is the moral of this story?

I think falling in love with failing changed my life because it taught me that mistakes are part of something great.

So don't worry about making them! We all fall down from time to time, but you have to get back up again. Otherwise, there will never come anything good out of your efforts.

Take a leap of faith, I promise you won't regret it.
