Go for It

Believe

I have worked full time while going to school for a while now. The money was good and it paid the bills. However, I was not happy with who I was and where my life was. Making the decision to want to leave my full time job to no job, and focus on my business was not something that I did without thought. Many hours were spent talking with my husband, planning and making sure we would be stable, all went in to this idea. I would not have been able to even start my business without having a full time job that presented me with these opportunities, for that I am grateful. I went from being miserable, depressed and negative every day therefore, creating problems in my relationship and myself to being bright, happy and positive in every aspect.

I would wake up every morning with little to no motivation to do anything. I would simply go through the motions of every day and feel trapped. Constantly thinking about all that I wanted to capture and paint and never doing it. Saying “what if” and “maybe one day.” Initially I listened to my heart and said, “Today I am going to do it.” I now wake up every morning with a smile on my face and in my heart. I spend my days creating new works of art, experimenting and pouring myself on to the canvas.

There will always be, and are currently, people who will not believe in your work or the leap you have chosen to take. They will worry about your future and stress themselves out of what MIGHT happen or what COULD happen. What they do not see is what is happening now and what I will MAKE happen. Being an adult we know that making certain choices will affect our lives in either a good or bad way and we know that no matter what direction that choice takes us, we will learn from it and grow.

Yes, my business is going and it’s going slowly. I take whatever opportunities that are presented in front of me and I run with them. I do what I can to promote and grow my business and spread the beauty. Just getting my name out there is the perfect start. I don’t know where my business will be in five years or five weeks. I have to try and keep reflecting on the inside and do what I love and hope for the best. If in whatever time frame, my business fails or it is not enough to sustain a stable future, I will still be happy that I took the chance to be me and share me with others, and then I will go back and get a job the supports us. At least I will be able to go into a new job knowing that I did something for me and I tried.

Don’t work at a job that makes you miserable and that you hate, it is a waste of your life and your time. Money will always be there, you have to at least give it a try. Take the chance. If it doesn’t work out then at least you know you tried.

Ending thoughts:

  • Taking the chance to do something in this life can be scary and yet rewarding.
  • Don’t just sit there and think about doing it or what it would be like to do it, just take the leap and DO IT.
  • Don’t let negative souls and thoughts stop you from perusing who you are.
  • If you don’t do you will always question.
