Get Out of the Slow Lane
Part 1 Steps to being more Productive

Get Out of the Slow Lane
People who sink their teeth into their work and do way more than the average person will definitely reap rich rewards. Rather than someone settling.
People tend to enjoy seeing what their old friends from High School have accomplished over the years. We tend to look and see what they are contributing to the world. If you take a moment and look at the vast differences of certain people. They all have the same ages and graduation year. Yet everyone’s career and life paths are different.
What makes those people’s success stories and accomplishments different?
Each has a different attitude toward work. As well as to their attitudes toward themselves. That is what shaped their destinies. Success is what we strive for but many would like to go beyond that and be influential to their society.
“Every human being with a healthy will to live has a natural drive… that goes beyond their need for just survival.”
-Dr. Arnold A. Hutchnecker MD
Committed hard work is one of those things that you really have to put in to see success. We admire those who roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to achieve the seemingly impossible. To Excel is ingrained in us from childhood. But it is up to us to follow through with it.
So when we take notice of those who are doing better or doing worse in life. We actually end up judging and criticizing our own selves and our own self worth.
Productive people desire success and influence, as many do. They know what they want so then they work hard to get it.
Steve Jobs
Micheal Dell
Bill Gates
Elon Musk
Ray Kroc
These are just a few people who put extraordinary efforts to being productive. Rigorously participating in fields and doing what they love. Then just making those steps to make their dreams come true.
Non super productive people will stay at home and vicariously through their icons. Rather than them go out and live their own dreamful lives.
Unfortunately, technology has a good way to make people carelessly waste precious time. When that energy could have been used to enhance their productivity and their ability to better their lives.
Another harsh resource that may seem helpful in time saving. Yet in the long run can do more harm than good. For example, Consuming unhealthy food. It might seem “fast and cheap” but it will cause a sluggish and unhealthy way to reduce productivity that could have been valued and used… Being productive also means a general wealth on your well being.
No adays it is easy for anyone to be a productive individual. Provided they use technology the proper way that can add value.
Current super productive people have created so many things and continue to do so, to better our lives.
“It's going to be better for my kids”
For those parents who believe that their kids would be better off if they didn’t struggle. But unfortunately that denies their kids the very things that will help them face and overcome the challenges of life.
Struggle is what makes us stronger. It's when we are challenged that we have the opportunity to grow and improve our lot in life. Those kids who get what they wanted have unconsciously learned that they can have those things without being the least bit productive.
Most parents got their kid what they wanted because they simply wanted to be their friends.
Being Strong
Enforcing Rules
Exercising Authority
Being Leaders of the Household
If you give in to your kids you as a parent will be perceived as a pushover and will be easily disrespected. Kids will begin to believe that there will be no consequence.
Since the “Baby Boomer” Generation, kids have been raised more and more coddled and things seem to be more given to kids rather than them working for it. Kids lose that sense of earning their own. Kids who have to work for their own things might have the appearance of a difficult childhood. In reality, they were actually given a big advantage. They had to deal and grow through challenges. They were able to embrace traditional work ethics.
Self Disciplined
Resourceful
Frugal
Valuing Money
Putting Work Before Fun
Resiliency
Getting Along with Others
Building Character
These children are more likely to have super productive lifestyles. They will have a ton of self worth and no sense of entitlement. Without a sense of responsibility or a solid work ethic they tend to have more of a rebellious attitude.
Super productive individuals tend to not partake in rebellious acts. They would rather grow personally or professionally and take charge of making their lives successful. They don’t follow a crowd. They are leaders.
Those who graduate college with no distinct work ethic, normally don’t lead to living rewarding lives. They normally will end up unhappy, blaming others, the economy or the government for their sad state of their life. Instead of taking charge of their lives and making changes happen.
Yet kids who don’t decide to go to college and have incredible work ethics and follow a passion. Create a successful business or career and do substantially well for themselves and their families.
Nowadays an average household credit card debt exceeds $15,000. Then if you add student loans, mortgage, and auto loan debt. You’re approaching $150,000 or way beyond that. Making it clear that most people are going to be or already enslaved by creditors.
The 40% and rising population has less than $500 in their savings.
But those crazy statistics floating in mind… kids could care less about earning money to pay anything for themselves. Kids just presume that mom and dad are going to pay for it. They think it's gonna be an amazing four or more “great” life as long as they don’t pay for it.
“What was gained by parents and kids who ignored traditional work ethics?”
Unfortunately… The entitlement attitude is only getting worse day by day.
Instead of being
Self Responsible
Resourceful
Independent
Work Ethic Focused
Flexible Enough to Survive & Thrive on their own.
Unprecedented number of kids have moved back home with their parents. 50% 18-23 age 14% 24-34 age. Still dependent on their parents.
However. Those super productive kids who applied themselves are enjoying where they are and can happily support themselves independently.
Regrouping Time
Adults who never learned decent work ethics as kids, have caused themselves to fall behind. They are probably living unproductive, unhappy, unfulfilled, unmeaningful or less than desirable lives. Their “Free Ride” will cost them dearly.
“Being poor means more than simply lacking money; it’s a state that's ‘mired in brokenness. Sustainable change for those in poverty comes not from the outside-in, but from the inside-out”.
-Dr. Brian Fikkert
Strengthen Character.
Dependable
Taking Initiative
Developing Personal and Professional Skills
Taking a Chance on Ourselves
Caring About Others
Learning from Challenges and Failures
Doing What it Takes to Grow and Improve Life Situation
Empower Others to do the Same
Having these qualities makes you more marketable. Which means this will increase your chance of higher positions, more pay and more responsibility.
Traditional work ethic are self starters and make things possible.
