From XXL to M: How I Reclaimed My Health and Life Through Weight Loss

How I Reclaimed My Health and Life Through Weight Loss

By DeanPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

Sure, I'm happy to provide a longer and more in-depth account of my weight loss journey.

And this is what helped me>>

It all started a few years ago when I realized that I was at my heaviest weight ever. I knew that my weight was affecting my health and well-being, both physically and mentally. I felt sluggish, lacked energy, was always tired, and didn't fit in my clothes anymore. I knew it wasn't sustainable, and something had to change.

At first, I tried going on fad diets and taking weight loss pills, but none of those worked. I wanted to take a more practical approach and decided to focus on eating healthily and getting regular exercise.

Initially, it was hard changing my eating habits. I was used to eating unhealthy foods and was not fond of fruits and vegetables. I had to retrain my taste buds and learn to love whole, nutritious foods. I started by incorporating more fruits and vegetables into my diet, swapping junk food for healthier options, and cooking more meals at home instead of eating out.

I also discovered that meal prepping helped me a lot. I would spend a couple of hours on Sundays cooking up healthy meals for the week, so I always had something healthy to eat when I was in a hurry. I noticed that tracking my meals and keeping a food diary helped a lot, as it helped me stay accountable for what I was eating.

In addition to eating healthily, I also started to exercise regularly. I hired a personal trainer who taught me how to strength train and do cardio exercises correctly. It was challenging at first, but I slowly but surely started seeing improvements in my endurance and strength.

After a few months, I managed to shed some weight. It was not an overnight process and required a lot of patience and determination. There were a few setbacks along the way, such as when I would fall off the wagon and overindulge in junk food, but I tried not to get too discouraged. Instead, I would pick myself back up and remind myself of the end goal.

Recently, I have switched to participating in group fitness classes instead of working with a personal trainer. I found that working out in a group setting helps me stay more accountable and motivated. I also enrolled in a few fitness challenges to keep things fun and exciting.

I am proud to say that I am now at a healthy weight, and my health and well-being are considerably better today than a few years ago. I still have my moments of weakness, but I remind myself that it's all about balance, and indulging once in a while is okay.

In conclusion, the weight loss journey was not easy, but it was worth it. My advice to anyone looking to lose weight is to focus on making realistic lifestyle changes, avoid fad diets, and find an exercise routine that works for you. It's all about taking small steps and being consistent in your efforts. Don't beat yourself up if you have setbacks, just pick yourself up, and keep moving forward.
