Freelancing
International Women's Day Shahnaz, Reshma and Sumaiya are managing their families and earning money through freelancing

Today is March 8, International Women's Day. This year, the theme of Women's Day has been set as 'Rights, Equality, Empowerment, Development of Women and Girls.' And women are moving forward with this slogan. They are increasing their skills and playing a role in society and family. Along with women in various professions, many women are also earning money by freelancing while sitting at home. Shah Naz Parveen, Reshma Haque and Sumaiya Akhter are among the women who are earning money by freelancing while managing their families. Their inspiration is the same dream of doing something big; to encourage women sitting at home - I can do something too. They told the story behind their success on yesterday, Thursday.
Shah Naz Parveen
Shah Naz Parveen told "My story basically started from the end. I used to work in a bank. After having twins, I quit my job keeping in mind the need to take care of them. I thought I would do something at home. My husband also supported me; but I was thinking about what to do, and then the idea of freelancing came to my mind. Because, it was not possible for me to go out and work after raising twins. In 2023, I took training in freelancing and started doing odd jobs; but while working, I realized that I actually had a lot left to learn. What I had learned was probably only 20 percent. After that, I took free social media marketing training under the Witt Institute scholarship and became successful in freelancing."
In addition to taking care of her 6-year-old daughter, she earns around 25,000 taka per month by doing freelancing work.
Reshma Haque
Reshma Haque told "I learned some data entry and digital marketing online. I really wanted to take direct training offline. Then I took freelancing training at an institution in Farmgate. After taking care of the children and organizing the housework, I had to come to Farmgate for classes. At one point, I needed a laptop. I had some money saved, and I asked my husband to buy me a laptop with some money. Then my husband asked his office colleagues about freelancing. They also said, it would be good if you can do it. You can work from home. Then he bought me a laptop. I started freelancing with that laptop. Now I have a confidence in my mind that I can do something too."
Sumaiya Akhter
Sumaiya Akhter, a resident of Savar, completed her master's degree in mathematics from Titumir College in 2017. She is currently working on SEO lead generation, YouTube SEO. She earns 25 to 30 thousand taka per month. Sumaiya got married about 10 years ago. Although her husband Md. Moniruzzaman Hawlader is a businessman by profession, Sumaiya started taking freelancing training at the capital's Farmgate in 2024 to establish herself. After completing the training, she created an account on Fiverr and Upwork; but before that, she earned 5 thousand taka by working for a local company.
Sumaiya Akhte
Sumaiya Akhter told 'I cried for many days because I couldn't do anything; but I have patiently improved my skills. I am working. Many times, many people have said that freelancing from home is useless; but I did not listen to that word and stuck to it. I have just started freelancing, I hope the end will be good.
Nowadays, women are not helpless. Women can be self-reliant if they want to. Which Shahnaz, Reshma and Sumaiya have shown. Congratulations to all the women of the world on International Women's Day. May all women be self-reliant and well, this is the hope. Best wishes yunuskhoka.blogspot.com
