How is your life after you leave the office? Are you relaxing? Do you have your moments of pampering and peace? Can you find your smile after a tiring day?
Unfortunately, more and more people fail to separate their professional and personal lives, bringing stress, fatigue, or problems to the office afterlife.
The explosive technological advancement, together with the avalanche of information that demands our attention, is part of the life of the modern man, a life that sometimes tires us, leaving us without energy. What can we do to be relaxed, optimistic, and energetic?
Is it hard to start your day smiling, optimistic, and relaxed, keeping a good mood both at the office and after the program? Well, it's not as hard as you think.
The end of the work schedule coincides with the beginning of your free time, so take full advantage of those hours.
Even if it sounds like a cliché, sometimes it's not good to think too much about what to do. At the moment, there are so many options to do or not to do something, that thinking too much about options, there are great chances that you will not choose any.
A walk in the park, the experience of a new recipe (don't be discouraged if it leaves you with smoke and burnt pans, a good book, or a round of exercise, are all good choices that will allow you to put your worries aside from the office and relax.
If you can't wait 10–15 minutes without checking your notifications, chances are you'll be addicted to your cell phone. More and more studies confirm that the mobile phone reduces physical and social interaction between people.
Excessively used mobile phone is a barrier between the user and the world. So, put it aside and forget about Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Whatsapp for at least a few hours.
By giving up the phone, you will rediscover the environment, the pleasure of "live" conversations and you will have more free time to use in beneficial activities.
A walk in the park helps to eliminate the agitation accumulated during the day, the beneficial effects of outdoor activities being proven by numerous studies.
Go out in nature at least 1–2 times a week to combat sedentary office work. Run, ride a bike or take a few moments to breathe in which you simply enjoy the moment. By no means do I want to convey that I recommend for the mother to be inactive.
"We live as many lives as we read books," said writer Mario Vargas Llosa, and he was right. An escape from the fascinating story of a book will often help you reduce stress and anxiety.
An hour of reading can work wonders, being a very good alternative to the classic TV or smartphone. You can learn a foreign language or learn new skills by giving reading an hour of your time.
The end of the office program can be the beginning of an adventure with family or friends.
Exploring the city in search of something new, negotiating property in the game Monopoly, laughter caused by a good joke, or a marathon night with your favorite movies.
Spending time with family and friends will give you a feeling of well-being and fulfillment, being perhaps the simplest and most enjoyable way to end the day with a smile on your face.
If you spend most of your office time sitting in a chair, it is recommended that you exercise at least twice a week after work.
A fitness or swimming session will "melt" the negative effects of sitting on the chair for long periods, charging you with energy and good cheer. However, be careful not to overdo the effort, because you will be tired the next day.
Invest time and patience in a personal development program. Even if it never seems enough, free time can be used to hone your skills and learn new ones. By investing in yourself, you are investing in the future and new career opportunities.
