Better for 2019

For dreams to come true, you have to put in the work.

By Shauna CampbellPublished 7 years ago 3 min read

2018 has really been a year filled with memories but most of all it has really taught me how strong I really am. The obstacles that we all have faced were necessary to prepare each one of us for the greatness that is in store for our life.

Some people have had a very painful and difficult year, but pain is just a preparation for your destiny. Pain gives you the strength that you need to become something great. Pain is a pushing factor if you allow it to be.

When something hurts bad enough it will awaken change. It will push you into a different direction. Think about when a child is told not to touch a hot iron but, yet they go and touch it anyway. Then they burn themselves and it teaches them that they should not go back and touch it again. Pain is a way to remind them of what they had to endure. In the same way a child learns from pain so does an adult. It is a reminder to not go back down that path again, it is time to try a different path because the first choice wasn't working.

If you had a painful 2018, I hope you have learned from the decisions that you have made and that you push into a different direction. Find a new path to take.

Be determined.

Be motivated.

Be ready.

As you step into 2019 take the lessons from 2018 into the new year. No one knows what the new year will be like but be determined enough to make it different from the previous year. Be motivated with positive thinking and with better direction. Also make sure you are ready for whatever is ahead of you. You may not know what is to come but you can use your past experiences to prepare you.

We don't know what tomorrow may bring but with life's lessons we can try and be as prepared as we can be.

Don't give up.

No matter what obstacles you may face in the new year don't give up.

Also make sure you take a positive mindset into the new year. It's time to drop those negative thoughts and all those doubts and fears; it is time to change how we think.

If you want good and better things, then you must change how you see things. Change the way you think and work hard for whatever you want in life.

Everyone always makes some big new years resolutions every year that doesn’t make it past the month of February but maybe we just been looking at things wrong. Maybe we need to take a new approach to these “RESOLUTIONS.”

Ask yourself, how will you obtain your goals?

Is the time frame that you are giving yourself manageable?

Yes, we all have big dreams and want big changes in life, but everything starts from small beginnings.

Maybe the best way to start is to start by the way you look at things or how you think. Maybe you have been letting negative thoughts control you for too long and maybe it is time now to put a more positive twist on things.

When crossing over into a new year and wanting change. In order to achieve your dreams then you need to plan properly and realistically. Going from December 31 to January 1, you are not given 3 wishes. Things won't change automatically. It is going to take some work. A lot of planning and reasonable time frames for everything.

Everyone wants change automatically but in reality, it doesn't work like that.

A better life calls for some good planning and some reasonable dates.

If you want a new job, but you haven't sent out any resumes or done any looking then how do you expect the job to come along?

There must be some work placed into those dreams.

Let's not only make a list of what we want to accomplish for 2019 but let’s also go into 2019 with positive thinking and realistic plans. Also know that obstacles will come, but what will you do to overcome them?
