
1. Starting off slowly
Start off slowly. If you are just starting out on the keto diet, take your time transitioning into a low-carb lifestyle. Don't go from eating high-carb meals to extremely low-carb meals all at once.
2. Increasing your fat intake
Increase your fat intake. One of the main principles of keto is increasing your fat intake while decreasing your carb intake. Aim to get 70% or more of your calories from healthy fats such as avocado, coconut oil, ghee, grass-fed butter, and olive oil.
3. Drink plenty of water
Drink plenty of water. Staying hydrated is essential for proper digestion and metabolism function, so make sure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day. You may also want to add a pinch of salt in it too!
4. Track what you eat and monitor your progress
Tracking your macros can help keep you accountable for the foods you are eating, so try keeping a food journal to track everything you consume in a day! Additionally, check in with yourself every now and then to make sure that the keto diet is still working for you and meeting your needs/goals!
