Are you missing something in your success?
Be successful!

What exactly does success look like to you? What do you consider to be successful? Is it possible for you to describe it in ten words or less? Perhaps this isn't the case. Happiness is a good example of this. It's a tricky creature that changes constantly. You think you've got it under control, but it slips through your fingers at the last minute. Alternatively, you can grab it and hold it tightly in the palm of your hand. However, when you open your hand, you will discover that it is not exactly as you had imagined it to be.

But you're driven to succeed, and every waking thought is filled with goals and aspirations that you want to achieve. However, paradoxically, the most visible characteristic of success is not a physical manifestation such as losing weight, moving into a new office, or purchasing a beautiful home. It's more of a feeling. And what about the glitzy, tangible prizes at the end? They're merely outward manifestations that serve to inform us (and others) that we've 'arrived' somewhere. As a result, true success is difficult to measure but simple to experience.
And if you've been having difficulty achieving your goals, it's possible that the missing ingredient in your master plan is exactly what you need. It's a feeling. And that emotion is one of gratitude. As it turns out, research has revealed that gratitude may very well be the missing ingredient in your quest for success.
Can you begin a new habit, diet, or exercise regimen and maintain your commitment to it until the end? Alternatively, do you quickly and inexorably relapse into your old habits, despite your desperate desire for change? The most difficult challenge you face is altering your behavior. Being slimmer or more fit, quitting smoking or drinking, or putting in the effort to consistently study – the benefits are obvious and delicious, but the old habits are still too strong.

See how much mental fortitude you'll need to get through this? However, you do have a secret weapon in your arsenal when it comes to combating old, unwanted patterns of behavior. The study of gratitude has shown that grateful people have greater willpower, which leads to greater success in all areas of life, including higher grades in exams. It assists you in maintaining your concentration and remaining optimistic about achieving the amazing result you desire. The power of gratitude, on the other hand, has a little more to it than that.
The positive effects of being thankful include having more energy, which makes working out more doable, enjoyable, and rewarding. Being thankful also has other benefits, such as making others happy. In addition, with the extra energy, you'll have the stamina to exercise properly rather than just going through the motions and getting poor results.
Seeing more significant improvements in your appearance and overall well-being is the most powerful motivator to keep going. It's no surprise that people who practice gratitude have an easier time sticking to their health regimen. Gratitude physically assists you in expressing your gratitude for the incredible body you have been given.

As you can see, gratitude has a profoundly positive impact on our emotional intelligence and well-being. That is the part of us that is capable of recognizing and controlling our emotions. That awareness leads to the ability to analyze and problem solves, both of which are critical skills in putting life back into perspective after something unexpected has thrown you off your game plan.
When you consider the role that emotional intelligence plays in your ability to control your emotions and return to a state of calm, it becomes clear that gratitude's effect on you can assist you in returning to normalcy. You have the ability to deal with events as they occur and move on from them.
People who practice gratitude have been shown to have more pro-active coping mechanisms, to the point where they are less likely to develop post-traumatic stress disorder after experiencing extreme duress – this is a phenomenally life-changing finding!
