Are We Being Distracted From Palestine?

"Don't let their cries fade into silence."

By Muhammad Ayaan Published 6 months ago 2 min read

Think carefully for a second.

Just a few days ago, people across Pakistan were raising strong voices for Palestine.

Everywhere — Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad — people were coming out, posting, marching, praying for Palestine.

The whole nation was feeling the pain.

The whole world was watching how Muslims stood together.

But now?

Suddenly, everything has changed.

Now everyone is busy discussing the Pakistan-India situation.

Why? Because of the attack on tourists in Kashmir.

Not just discussions — there are memes, jokes, emotional fights, hatred everywhere.

But where is Palestine now?

Why did we stop raising our voice?

Why did our emotions shift from Gaza to Kashmir memes overnight?

Was this an accident?

Or are we being purposely distracted?

And the biggest question — who is behind this distraction?

Past Examples — Have We Seen This Before?

Let’s look at history:

Iraq War (2003):

When protests started against the invasion of Iraq, the world media suddenly flooded people with news of terrorist groups and fear.

The real protest against war was slowly buried under fear and violence stories.

The world forgot Iraq and started fighting their own battles.

Arab Spring (2010-2012):

When Muslims from Tunisia, Egypt, and other Arab countries tried to rise for freedom, smart minds created small divisions.

Instead of one united voice, Muslims started fighting among themselves — Sunni vs Shia, tribe vs tribe.

What happened?

Their dream of freedom was destroyed.

Afghanistan:

Every time Afghans started uniting against foreign occupation, sectarian clashes and ethnic fights were pushed inside the country.

And unity was crushed again and again.

Is the same thing happening to us now?

When we were shouting "Free Palestine!" loudly...

When international pressure on Israel was increasing...

Suddenly Kashmir tourist attacks happened.

Suddenly news shifted.

Suddenly emotions shifted.

And now we are busy fighting on social media.

Ask yourself:

Was it a coincidence?

Or a planned distraction?

Who benefits from it when Muslims forget Gaza and start focusing on other fights?

Who doesn't want Pakistan to keep supporting Palestine strongly?

Who wants Muslim unity to break apart?

What Quran Says About These Tricks

Allah has already warned us:

"You will surely find the most intense in enmity toward the believers (to be) the Jews and those who associate others with Allah."

(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:82)

And also:

"The Jews and Christians will never be pleased with you until you follow their way."

(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:120)

So was it not expected?

That they will try to break our unity when we stand for justice?

That they will use every trick to make us forget Palestine?

Where Do We Stand Now?

Are we really so weak that just one incident can change our priorities?

Is our love for Palestine so shallow that a few memes can kill it?

Are we so emotional that we cannot see the bigger plan?

Or will we realize this trap?

Will we stand up again and remember Palestine?

Will we refuse to let the oppressors win?

The world watches. Allah watches. Our silence is not just silence — it is betrayal.

Wake up.

Before it's too late.

Before another innocent Palestinian child cries, and we are too busy laughing at memes

It's difficult to understand how quickly our attention drifts. Only yesterday, we were Palestine all over, crying out for justice. Now that there is all this going on in Kashmir, it looks like we're losing sight of things. Why are we letting ourselves get distracted? This has happened before—how and why division and outside forces could make us lose sight of what is important. But we cannot let that occur now. Palestine still requires our help, and we cannot falter. Let's not let memes or new headlines divert the conversation. We stood with Palestine for a reason, and we need to keep standing up for them. The fight for justice doesn't stop because something else comes along. Our support for Palestine shouldn't either.
