It seems as though society is forever trying to improve themselves or prove themselves. Whichever the case may be, how do you do it? The majority of the people that exist in this world think they are good people but are they really? Are there specific traits that are related to being a good person within this world? As with everything else; of course, there is. Here are a few traits that seem to be the most popular among being a truly good person.
Call your parents, on a regular basis. This one may vary from person to person as in reality, not everyone has a biological set of parents that they are in contact with. However, if you have adoptive, foster, or stand-in parents that you have grown to love; call them. Give them an update on your life. Let them realize that you love them and you are thankful to them for raising you into adulthood. Do this on a regular basis and see how your relationship grows.

Use your manners, everywhere you go. Whether you go into a business, a friend’s home, a restaurant, or passing someone on the street; say hello or nod your head. When you go to a restaurant, hold the door open for someone else to come through. Manners have not gone out of style and they have not been forgotten by any means. If you fail to use them, people may not say anything to you immediately but are guaranteed they are talking about you behind your back. Don’t give them a reason to.
Consider other people and their feelings. There is no reason to live a selfish life. This will benefit no one, not even yourself. Thinking of other people and putting them in front of yourself it makes you understand how your actions affect others. Maybe, just maybe, there is a reason for you to tweak your actions for the betterment of others.
Go the “extra mile” for others. This is generally a reference people use when there is a task to be done. If there is a task to be done that may seem very simple for you; do something more in order to make it appear extravagant not only to yourself but to others. People realize how important it is to finish what they have started. So why not finish it in a positive and uplifting manner?

Love your loved ones. More often than not biological family members fall out for the most ridiculous reasons. Ensure that you treat each and every person that you love with respect and dignity. This is to be done no matter how they have treated or spoken of you. Being a negative person should not draw the negativity out of you as well. Don’t give them the pleasure or satisfaction of seeing you upset by their actions.
Wear your smile proudly. It is a small gesture but a smile is so worth it when it is genuine. A smile can literally change an entire conversation. A smile can change the atmosphere in a room. And a smile can let other people know that you are living a life of positivity. All of which are contagious.
The world that we live in right now is in turmoil. However, it doesn’t have to be for everyone and every situation. You can be the shining light in an otherwise very dark situation. You can be that one person at work that lets others know that it is going to be okay. You can be that one person in a stressful situation that lets others know that this too shall pass. You just have to want to.
Until next time.

I think the more we grow up, the more our parents crave our attention and care; giving them a call is an excellent advice to keep that connection and show them that you love them! Thank you Kristina for such valuable insights!
