7 questions to ponder before embarking on a weight-loss program
weight-loss program

1.*the timing right?
The timing was right. I had just come off of a job where I was working long hours, and my spare time was eaten up by homework, so I decided to start going to the gym regularly. I knew that if I didn't start taking better care of myself, I would continue to put on weight, and eventually I would get to the point where I would be too heavy to play sports. I needed to lose weight, but I also needed to make sure that I didn't lose too much weight.
2. Do I have short-term goals?
I decided that I would focus my short-term goals on losing weight. Losing weight would not only help me improve my appearance, but it would also improve my health. I knew that I had a lot of unhealthy habits, and losing weight would be a good way for me to improve my health. I also knew that if I focused on my weight loss goals, I would be more likely to stick to my new fitness routine.
3. Am I ready to make fitness a priority?
When I first started going to the gym, I weighed myself every day so that I could track my weight loss. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't just losing fat without losing any muscle. I also decided to set weight loss goals for myself, such as losing 10 or 20 pounds. This helped motivate me to go to the gym and work hard, and also helped me to set realistic goals for myself.
4. Am I ready to change my meal plan?
I decided to start changing my eating habits by making healthier food choices and cutting out as much junk food as possible. I also decided that I was going to focus on losing weight and toning, rather than trying to build muscle. I knew that if I cut calories too much, I would lose muscle, which would make it harder to lose weight in the future. I decided to focus on losing weight, and if I needed to lose some weight, I would work on my diet further in the future.
5. Do I have support?
I knew that I couldn't go at it alone, so I decided to join a gym closer to my house. I made an appointment with the personal trainer, and he put me on a weight-loss plan that would get me in the best shape of my life. I also knew that I couldn't do this on my own, so I looked for ways to keep myself accountable. I made a deal with my friends that we would go to the gym together, and we would each bring one friend along so that we had somebody to workout with if we ended up being too tired to go on our own.
6. Do I have long-term goals?
I made a goal to lose weight, but I didn't make a goal to lose a specific amount of weight. I knew that I would need to set a limit, like my grandmother always told me, but I didn't want to do that yet. I wanted to make sure that I was losing weight healthily and reasonably, and I wasn't going to set a weight-loss goal that I would not be able to reach. I knew that when I reached my goal weight, I would need to set another goal.
7. Am I prepared to evaluate progress? Do I have an evaluation plan?
I knew that I needed to shed a few pounds in order to get down to my athletic weight, but I wasn't sure how to go about it. I didn't want to just lose weight without knowing why or how much, so I decided to do some research. I wanted to make sure that I didn't just jump into the deep end and that I did my research first. I needed to make sure that I was prepared to evaluate progress, to come up with a plan, and to lose weight.
