5 Tips You Can Use to Be Happy and Positive this Year
Ryan James
Depending on our financial situation, the relationship between happiness and our sense of meaning can change. People are found to be happier as they get wealthier. People with less money associate happiness with a sense of meaning—the belief that their lives have meaning, value, and direction. Surprisingly, that connection is consistent across much of the globe.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, income inequality and poverty are increasing globally. Low-income people are twice as likely as higher-income people to suffer from depression, and lower household incomes are associated with an increased risk of mood disorders. For many wealthy individuals, having a sense of meaning is associated with longer-term happiness than wealth alone.
On some days, the world can seem extremely chaotic and overwhelming—whether it's politics, the economy, global issues, or simply the stress you face at work or home. People looking for more meaning in their lives should choose to look beyond themselves and give more to others. This is why you should choose to be happy.
Here are 5 tips you can use to live a happier prosperous life.
Money Isn't Everything

Everyone requires a certain level of income to ensure their safety, adequate food, and shelter, but this only provides a base level of satisfaction. Money won't buy you any more happiness once you've reached this point.
Use money to enhance happiness. Money that enhances your happiness adds value to your life and others as well. Never allow having money to be the reason you are happy. Remember, money doesn't buy happiness.
1. Add Value to Others
As I mentioned adding value is important and something money can definitely transform. Use your money and happiness to inspire others.
Many rich and famous celebrities do this, and you should too. Everyone has an innate desire to make a difference and to contribute their skills and talents to their communities.
2. Spend Your Time Wisely

If you want to increase happiness, you should spend your time doing activities that are both refreshing and energizing.
When you spend time on a hobby you enjoy or playing games, you are more likely to be happy. Consider napping as well. Napping is a great way to increase your happiness. Get some sleep, because sleep reduces stress and helps you think clearer and focus.
3. Create Amazing Life Experiences
It's also a good idea to seek meaningful experiences when creating the conditions for happiness. While you can spend money on things, experiences are much more likely to pay off in your sense of joy. Purchasing things provides only fleeting satisfaction, whereas experiences engage you over time in multiple sensory brain circuits creating memories.
Memories are formed by experiences, which last longer than objects. Furthermore, most experiences are shared with others, making them even more enjoyable.
4. Eat a Heathy Diet

Eating healthier improves prosperity and happiness because you are giving your body nutrients and vitamins that support your growth. For instance, Consumption of fruits and vegetables was linked to higher levels of happiness.
Nutrition is key to a happiness. When you eat unhealthy foods, you are depleting your body. Stop depleting your body and adding unhealthy calories and weight. This will give you a healthy boost and add more excitement to your life.
5. Improve Your Mindset
Rather than pursuing happiness for its own sake, you should strive to create the conditions for happiness. Improve your mindset first and follow up with positive influence.
If you haven't guessed by now, mindset is key to success because it is your thought process and motivation for doing something. If you motivate yourself to be happy, set your mind to do it and work on success habits every single day. Set goals, enhance your potential to achieve, create a system, grow with knowledge, have an open mind, and SHINE BRIGHT.
