How I Saved $1,000 in 30 Days

I had seen many finance printables online before, particularly on Etsy, but had never actually considered doing any before.

But with wanting to save more I decided I would try them, so I designed my own, my first one being my $1,000 In 30 Days Saving Challenge.

I wasn’t sure at first if I would actually be able to stick to it, but I found that colouring in one shape every day I saved the amount actually really helped inspire and motivate me.

It helped me to watch my progress grow!

Yes I saw the money piling up but colouring in one shape every day helped me see it grow on there as well, it helped me see the amounts it was growing to.

It took a lot of work for me to save up $1,000 in 30 days, that is only 1 month and I only get paid twice in 1 month.

You see I’m on a pension, due to disabilities that impact me from working a normal 9-5 job.

That is why I am self-employed, so I can make extra money while I also study to open more opportunities for me.

So I had to seriously budget, but the point is that I managed to do it, and I felt great for it.

It also helps when saving to have a goal, mine is $10,000.

Now that to me is an awful lot of money.

So it helps to break it into smaller amounts, so saving $1,000 in 30 days helps break it into those smaller amounts instead of focusing on trying to save $10,000 in one big go.

Saving $1,000 in 1 month means that it will only take me 10 months to save up my goal of $10,000.

Breaking it into small amounts like this helps to make it seem much more managable.

Also having something to save for really helps.

This can be many things, here is a list of examples of things to save for.

A Car.

Deposit.

To Pay Off Debts.

A Holiday.

Education (Such as a Course).

Birthday.

Wedding.

Anniversary.

House.

Honeymoon.

And much more, if you want to find my list of Things To Save Up For check out my other blog posts.

My saving goal is a house, obviously I will need more than $10,000 for that, a LOT more! But $10,000 is just my first goal, once I reach that I will probably aim for $20,000 and so on until I get to the amount fully needed.

One of the things I absolutely love about my $1,000 In 30 Days Saving Challenge printable is that I can print out multiple, however many I need to save up how much I want, so I can do them however many times I want until I save up the amount I want/need.

Another bonus is that you don’t have to go in any order, you can choose any amount and save it for a particular day, so if I need to save smaller amounts that pay I can, it definitely helps make saving easier.
