Being a Man in 2025
Know what you believe and stand up for it
This is a topic that surely will get someone canceled if not handled correctly. I’m not one for catering to everyone but also am a chronic people pleaser so really try my best to not make people hate me. Sometimes speaking my mind can get me in trouble but the kind of trouble may or may not be a bad thing. We all have our thoughts and opinions and sometimes it really doesn’t matter what other people are thinking we have to stick to our beliefs.
It helps not many people read my writings and even more importantly my thoughts. I think if others knew all the thoughts I had I would find myself in trouble a lot more often.
I think this is one area I see men struggling with these days. They want to please everyone so they will bend their beliefs to match the crowd they find themselves in. They pretend to be someone they are not in order to be liked by society or seem to be popula. This indecisiveness keeps us walking on eggshells all the time and people don’t really know who we are.
Our stories matter. Their stories matter. We may not see eye to eye on everything but we can’t live our lives trying to get along with everyone. We all believe we are right and how we see the world is the only correct way. I believe there is only one truth but I can’t force anyone else to see that. I believe in the power of prayer and if what I believe is true then I can see the wonder working power of the God I believe in change people’s hearts.
It is a humbling experience to realize that I am not the center of the universe. The world does not revolve around me or who I am as a person. I want to live my life in the best possible way and hopefully have a positive impact on other people’s lives in the process.
It feels impossible in this time and age to live a life as a man. People want you to conform to the ways of the world. They want you to be weak and not stand up for others. Don’t protect women because they are strong and independent. These voices are dangerous and misguided. We have a job to do as men and it is not to conform to others. We are called to be strong and protect those who are weaker than we are.
I guess what I am trying to say in this chaotic post is men need to stand up and be strong and brave. They need to be kind and respectful and empower others by guiding and protecting them. There is a balance we must find to be strong leaders that don’t hurt others in the process. People aren’t in our lives to be used. I want to see a world where we as men stand up for what is right. We have strong core values that actually mean something to us. And that we will stick to the things that we believe.
