(Dark Romance - Part 1)

The Wedding That Never Was

The rain is sitting in bridal attire. Around the rain, there are many girls of the same age playing and teasing. The rain’s heart is very happy. She is talking and laughing with everyone. Soon, she will marry Neel. She is overjoyed because she is about to marry the person she loves. As she thinks about it, her joy seems endless.

Suddenly, Neel’s mother comes and says to the rain,

— "Look, look at how my Neela Ma is looking in her bridal attire. Mashallah, she looks like a queen. My son’s fortune is very good to have someone like you as his life partner."

Hearing Neel’s mother's words, the rain blushes. Seeing her blush, Neel’s mother says,

— "No need to feel shy, dear. The kazi (religious leader) will be here soon to conduct the marriage. I’ll be right back. Take care of my Neela Ma."

Saying this, Neel’s mother gives the rain a kiss on the forehead and leaves.

The rain, her face flushed with embarrassment, remains sitting. Today is a very joyous day for her. She is marrying the man she loves, Neel. Just thinking about it makes her feel happy.

A little while later, two girls come and tell everyone, including the rain,

— "Neela Bhabhi (sister-in-law), please come downstairs. The kazi is coming to conduct your marriage."

Blushing, the rain stands up and goes downstairs with everyone. Neel and the rain are seated on two separate stages facing each other. The rain looks at her beloved Neel. He looks very handsome in his sherwani (traditional wedding attire). Neel’s eyes are also fixed on her.

Neel is quite tall, around 5 feet 10 inches. He has a fair, glowing complexion and is very muscular. Today, in the sherwani, he looks even more charming.

The kazi arrives and begins the wedding ceremony. When the kazi asks the rain to say "I do," suddenly, a group of men dressed in black enters the house hurriedly. Behind them walks a handsome man. He is about 6 feet tall, has fair skin, silky, styled hair, and a stubbled beard. He is muscular as well. Holding a cigarette, he enters the house while eating and heads straight toward the rain.

Everyone stares at the man in shock, not understanding what is happening. Suddenly, Neel’s father shouts,

— "Who are you people? How did you get into my house? Security! Security!"

Before he can finish, the man with the gun shoots a round of blanks into the air. Everyone trembles in fear. The man then looks at Neel’s father and says,

— "Hey Mr. Khan, what’s the point of calling security? Talk to me, and things will be better for you, or maybe you can understand what could happen next?" (He gestures with his gun.)

Neel’s father feels somewhat afraid but does not back down, while Neel steps forward and says,

— "Who are you people, and what do you want here? This is not a place for you to cause trouble!"

The man bursts out laughing and then, with his laughter fading, says,

— "Mr. Neel Ahmed, who told you I came here to cause trouble? I came here to take my wife, the one you were about to marry."

Everyone is shocked by the man’s words. Neel steps back, stunned, and says,

— "What do you mean? She’s married? And you’re her husband? What proof do you have?"

The man responds,

— "You want proof? Wait..."

He then approaches the rain and says,

— "Sweetheart, have you forgotten me so soon? Tell everyone I am your husband, Srabon, and you are my wife, Chandni Akhtar Borshi."

Hearing this, the rain stands up and, with a furious voice, says,

— "I am not Borshi. My name is Neela. And I don’t know you. Who are you? Why are you doing this?"

The man, Srabon, becomes enraged and says,

— "Borshi, I know you remember me well, but you’re pretending to avoid me. That won’t work, sweetheart. You have to come with me."

Just then, Neel’s mother intervenes, saying,

— "Neela isn’t pretending, dear. She truly doesn’t remember you."

Srabon looks at Neel’s mother and raises an eyebrow. Neel’s mother steps forward and explains,

— "Maybe you’re telling the truth, but Neela isn’t lying either. She doesn’t recognize you because she lost her memory in an accident a year ago."

Everyone looks at Neela, stunned. Neel’s mother continues,

— "One year ago, we found Neela after she had a severe car accident. She suffered a head injury that caused her to lose all her past memories. We tried to find her family but couldn’t. So, I took her in as my own daughter. In this year, my son Neel and Neela have become close, and they started liking each other, which is why we were arranging their wedding. But we never expected that someone would come today with her true identity—and as her husband?" (She sighs deeply.)

Before Srabon can respond, the rain rushes to Neel’s mother’s side and says,

— "I don’t know him, Mom. Please don’t let him take me with him. I love Neel. I can’t accept anyone else as my husband. Please, don’t give me to this terrorist."

Hearing this, Srabon loses his temper. He grabs the rain’s hand, pulling her toward him, and forcefully presses her to his chest. He says,

— "You have no choice, sweetheart. You have unfinished business with me. Whether you want it or not, you’re coming with me."

With that, Srabon presses a handkerchief to the rain’s face and knocks her unconscious. He then lifts her and says,

— "Thank you for taking care of my rain as if she were your daughter. I am Srabon, the number one businessman in Dhaka. If you ever need anything, feel free to contact me, and I will help you."

With these words, Srabon walks out with the rain in his arms. As he is about to leave, Neel steps forward, blocking his way and says,

— "Stop right there, Mr. Srabon. You can’t just take Neela without proof. Moreover, Neela has forgotten everything from the past. She doesn’t know you anymore. Neela loves me, and I love her. You can’t take her away."

To be continued...

now, everyone reacted in various ways to the final episode of the story. And everyone is talking about Srabon. Now, I have a few things to say. Have you ever thought about why Borshi (the rain) acted the way she did? Surely, there must be a bigger reason behind it. And yes, if I had given the story a happy ending yesterday as everyone wished, would the story have made sense?

It would never have made sense. Because there are still many mysteries and unanswered questions in the story. Srabon loves Borshi madly, true, but it was because of Srabon that Borshi lost her entire family. Therefore, Srabon deserves some kind of punishment.

Gradually, when everyone learns the real truth behind the story, they will no longer misunderstand Borshi. My stories are not always as romantic as everyone else's. Because I don't like excessive romantic melodrama. The story must align with the title for it to make sense. So, please be patient and read the story. wait for part 2, You will get a much more satisfying happy ending than you expect.
