How to choose the perfect wedding car
Arrive to your big day in style and class.

The basic idea behind running any event is that you do all the planning and organizing in advance. Then everything should run smoothly on the day itself. This is particularly true of organizing weddings since people are often full of emotion on the day itself.
Choosing the perfect wedding car should be high on your list of priorities. To help, Kuldip, owner of White7 Bedford; wedding car hire specialists, shares his tips for choosing the perfect wedding car.
Start by setting your budget
It may sound like a cliche, but you can save yourself a lot of stress by setting your budget first and choosing your wedding car afterwards. That way you can avoid being tempted by cars which are out of your realistic price range. The good news is that even if you’re on a tight budget, you can still find plenty of stylish options, especially if you start looking early.
Organize your car hire as early as possible
Companies which provide wedding car hire also tend to provide car hire for other occasions. This means that they are often very busy regardless of the time of year. Booking in advance is therefore highly advisable as it gives you the best chance of getting the right car for you at the best possible price.
Think carefully about the logistics
You need to be very clear about exactly who needs to be taken from where to where at what point and in what vehicle. In addition to the bride and groom themselves, you need to think about the wedding party as a whole and possibly even the wedding guests. You may not need luxury vehicles for them, but you should think about the practicalities of transport.
You should also think about whether or not you’ll need transport to the reception venue. If you do, remember to make this clear to your wedding car provider at the time of booking. If you’re not clear on your reception plans at the time of booking, let your wedding car provider know this. Then update them as soon as possible.
Remember, the longer you leave it to confirm your final plans, the more likely you are to pay a higher price or lose the vehicle you want. Wedding car providers do try to be flexible, but they cannot keep hire slots open indefinitely.
Think about the practicalities of the trip
In the context of hiring a wedding car, the number one practicality to consider is the bride’s dress. If you have dreams of a voluminous wedding gown, then ideally, you should pick the dress first and the car second. If you can’t then ask your wedding car provider which car they’d recommend for a voluminous gown.
Then think about the terrain you’re going to have to cover. A sports car is fine for smooth roads, but you’ll feel every bump on a country lane (or a potholed city road). Likewise, think about the practicalities of the Great British weather. An open-top may look glamorous, but even on a dry day, the wind can wreck hair and makeup and in the UK there’s always the chance of rain.
Check out photos of the actual car you want to book
It’s fine to look around the internet to get a general idea of what kind of car you would like. Once you come to book, however, it’s strongly advisable to check out photos of the actual car you want to book. It’s better if you can actually see it physically, but that isn’t always practical, even without COVID19.
The reason you want to see the actual car is that car manufacturers often make variations of the same model (trims and customizations). This means that two cars of exactly the same age and model can look noticeably different. Reputable wedding-car-hire companies will have photos of their vehicles so make sure you check them out.
