All I want is to say "I Do"
Forever won't be enough to love you.
It was as though the whole of London had come to see what was going on between Mr and soon-to-be Mrs. Watson. It was quite impossible to keep their engagement secret and not get attention when they were seen together every morning at breakfast, but Sherlock never gave anyone else thought as she and John passed by each other in Baker Street, hand in hand, and walked out into the street. The couple always held hands whenever possible in public, even during the rare occasions when it didn’t work for them – like today.
Sherlock and John sat next to each other at the table, John’s arm draped over Sherlock’s shoulders. They both looked rather dashing, John wearing his favorite scarf with his jacket buttoned up and hair styled to perfection. He was dressed up all nice so they could go out for dinner after the wedding; it wasn’t much of a hardship when you considered the circumstances. As far as Sherlock could tell, John hadn’t realized that they had been recognized – or even if he did, he just chose not to care. He seemed rather happy about the whole thing.
They were having breakfast, talking softly and occasionally laughing quietly before the door opened. John raised an eyebrow curiously and Sherlock smirked slightly, waiting for who would come through the front door. She saw John smile softly, looking up from her toast, and turned her head towards him, seeing who had entered the room.
She felt her eyes widen slightly when she noticed who was standing in front of them, a grin spreading across her face immediately.
"Hello, my loves," ...
“Good Morning Mrs. Hudson! Is the kitchen already? I can smell pancakes being fried from here.” John called out cheerily, waving one arm over his head. Mrs. Hudson appeared behind him moments later.
“Good morning John! Well, no it isn’t exactly ready yet,” She said, looking back at Sherlock and giving her a wink and a smile. “I’ve been helping Marilyn clean up last night and then got caught up in making sure everything was perfect this morning.” She added.
Breakfast will be done shortly. Or are you two ready to go now?”
John nodded, grabbing his coat off of the back of his chair and quickly putting it on. “Absolutely.” He said brightly. Sherlock stood from her seat and made her way toward John.
Mrs. Hudson smiled and took Sherlock’s plate. “Enjoy your day, lovebirds!”

Sherlock was practically bouncing in excitement as John parked his car and got out, taking Sherlock’s hand in his own again. They had arrived early at Mrs. Kennedy’s house – just shy of ten o'clock – but the sun wasn't up yet. Still, they were there. It was all Sherlock could think about, whether she should try and make some kind of joke about it or whether she should keep her composure – and she was sure that John would be able to tell she was nervous by how tightly she was squeezing his hand.
The two of them made their way towards Mrs. Kennedy's front steps, smiling at various passersby on the streets. They stopped outside the gate. Maybe she should play it casually, she thought to herself. No big deal, right? Right?
Right?...
Her thoughts were interrupted as John leaned down and pressed a kiss against her cheek, which caused a huge smile to spread across her face. Sherlock knew they would have a few moments to themselves, and although that would mean that she wouldn't be able to focus on anything she was supposed to do, it would also mean that John could kiss her if they wanted to.
They stood there for a while longer holding hands, looking around, and waiting until Mrs. Kennedy let them in to greet them inside. She greeted them politely and invited them into the living room, “Well, come along, come along, come along,” She said enthusiastically, leading them also into the kitchen. “We still need to wait for everything else to be finished up here before we can eat, and since Marilyn is away visiting family.
Sherlock walked back majestically into the sitting room while her fiancé went and put on the kettle.
"You look lovely," John whispered to her when he returned from the kitchen carrying two mugs filled with tea. She blushed lightly, glancing briefly away from John, but still managed a small smile.
"Thank you." She replied softly.
They settled onto the sofa once John had poured hot water into their respective cups. He handed Sherlock one of the mugs and placed a small bagel onto a plate before sitting himself down beside her.
Sherlock began to sip her tea, watching carefully as John picked at his bagel.
"Are you excited?" John asked with a smirk, sipping his tea slowly. "Of course!" She answered without missing a beat. "It is our wedding that's coming up after all!" Sherlock grinned back, causing John to laugh.
They talked for a while longer – mostly about trivial things. It was strange knowing that they were engaged, especially considering that they’d been together only a few months, but they weren't worried about it. They'd gotten used to being a couple very fast. After all, they were meant to be. They had found each other and were going to spend the rest of their lives together.
