13 Proposal Ideas You Should Try Out
At the end of the day, please do what works for you and your significant other
The decision to spend the rest of your life with someone else is a very crucial one. The way you convey these intentions are equally as crucial. No one likes feeling like an afterthought, especially in a romantic relationship. There are a million ways to pop the question, but whatever you go with should perfectly reflect who you and your future spouse are. So, here are thirteen of some of the best ways to propose to your partner. Who knows? You just might need it.
1. Private candlelit dinner
Nothing says “I love you” like a private candlelit dinner around a flower-strewn path. Take the time to plan the dinner, adding personalized touches that your partner is sure to love. Pop the question after the meal and celebrate with a tasty dessert for two. Sweet, yeah?
2. In public
Before you can even consider proposing, talks about marriage must have come up. If your partner is the kind of person that likes public surprises, then this is a good way to pop the question. Make sure the cameras are turned all the way up and every moment of the proposal is caught on tape.
3. At home
Home is where the heart is after all. So, make your proposal grand in the place that holds your hearts. You can send your partner out for a day of adventure so they don't get suspicious and ruin the surprise. Take your time to create the best ambiance. Your flowers, food, wine, and lighting should be top-notch.

4. Surrounded by family
Family members are very important people that will be in you and your partner's lives forever. Proposing around them is a wonderful way to kick-start the rest of your life together. Of course, you’re still going to be in all those family reunions so this isn’t really that bad of an idea.
5. On a trip
The best way to take a regular romantic getaway to special levels is to propose. You could do it before, so the trip is a celebration of this big event. You could also propose during your trip, so you and your partner spend the rest of the trip basking in your love for each other.
6. At the beach
A beach proposal is a wonderful way to pop the question, especially at sunrise or sunset. Choose a beach that has a special place in your hearts and ask away. The sound of waters overlapping and the cool rushing wind is always a great atmosphere.
7. Scavenger hunt
Make your proposal a fun adventure by scattering clues around for your partner to find. It can be done in your home, around your neighborhood, or even in your town, depending on how big you want this hunt to be. Bring your partner back to special places like where you had your first dates and remember to pamper them. Get people involved, give them clues and have your partner ask them for it. Make sure a camera is ready at every spot to capture their response.
8. During a picnic
Prepare a picnic and whisk your partner away to a place they love to visit, a garden, or even at home. Enjoy your meal and your time with your partner. Afterward, go ahead and pop your question.
9. In the forest
You can string up the woods with fairy lights to create an enchanted forest feel. This is a wonderful setting to ask the question. However, don't forget to map the way there so you don't get lost in the forest.
10. At your place of worship
Whichever spiritual inclination you belong to, your place of worship where you would probably get married is a good place to pop the question. This way, anytime you go to worship, your partner will remember what you did there.

11. Up in the air
You can propose in the air on your way to a trip, just make sure you inform the flight attendants of your plan. Or you can have your proposal drawn out in the sky.
12. Made in the stars
What better way to stamp your love in the stars than a visit to the planetarium? You can have the constellations spell out “Will you marry me?” and even name a star after your love while you are there.
13. Bookstore
For all the book lovers out there, nothing is more romantic than books. You can surprise your significant other with a book-shopping trip and pop the question while they stroll the aisles looking for the best book.
The proposal is important, but don't get caught in the planning and forget to document this moment. Make sure you have photographic evidence of this moment. Also, and most importantly, at the end of the day, please do what works for you and your significant other, even if it’s not listed in any article.
