Yoga is the best combination of exercise and mental exercise. Yoga is a way of life, a style that the intelligent and with spiritual depth adopt (it is said), which has antiquity as a practice of more than 5,000 years, being considered one of the 6 schools of Hindu Philosophy, based on meditation as a path to self-knowledge and liberation.

Originally from India, where it is seen as a means of spiritual and physical perfection, yoga is increasingly practiced by other peoples besides the Hindus, outside the continent itself, through the so-called asanas (positions) for balance.

There is general talk of 4 branches of yoga found in The Bhagavad Gita, a book written between 400 and 100 BC.

These are each dedicated to a belief or rather branches in part, to a cult that forms a whole, the whole world, of all the seen and unseen: Karma Yoga meaning Yoga of action in the world, Jnana Yoga, which means Yoga of wisdom and intellectual endeavor, Bhakti Yoga, this is the Yoga of giving to God and finally Dhyana Yoga, so the Yoga of meditation.

Reasons to do yoga

It is said that yoga makes you feel very good, very fulfilled, and harmonious. Yoga practitioners say that only after a session do they feel better and younger by a few years mentally, more relaxed, lighter, calmer, and much happier.

By practicing the various postures you manage to control your breathing and by meditating, you gain health, a slimmer body, and a more balanced mind. Some studies have shown that yoga helps us in both depressive states, after the sessions we manage to control our anxiety, back pain, joint pain, asthma, we regulate our tension, and many other states of discomfort and physical and mental illness.

Scientists say that yoga does the following for us: it improves body posture, increases flexibility, strength, and resistance to stress and any level of physical exertion, significantly reduces stress and tension, improves concentration, slims our figure, and stabilizes weight. significantly improves blood circulation and stimulates the immune system.

The reason is the simple fact that when we do yoga we communicate with ourselves, with our body and with our mind, managing to establish a perfect balance, to control our reactions and their consequences, especially if we take into account the fact that yoga by its simple definition means union, from the Sanskrit language. By practicing these movements we become aware of the union between us and the whole universe, managing to find our perfect balance in space.

How does yoga help us?

Considered more of a journey to us and outer space, to the entire universe, yoga does not promise that we will become more enlightened or that we will lose weight, or that we will be in a certain way.

That is why it is a journey because it helps us to discover and understand each other. For example, hatha yoga, posture exercise, breathing exercise, meditation, help a lot to purify the mind and body, helping us to know ourselves better and to unite with everything around us. But we must not think that we will immediately reach the desired results.

It takes a lot of effort and willpower, and when we get there we are on the right track and we can consider ourselves lucky and victorious in front of the world. We can look at the sky with more serenity in the soul, in the mind, and the whole body.

We can practice yoga, even if we do not believe all the spiritual issues from which it derives, because yoga does not discriminate, is tolerant, and accepts anything and everyone, its basic principle being harmony. It is said that if we practice yoga for a long enough period we end up feeling transformed and later we ask ourselves questions, eventually reaching to look further to move on to other stages.

It is best to practice in nature, to feel how our body is flooded with all the natural noises and its beauty freeing our minds, leaving worries aside, without thinking about the physical world, simply to exist with us. what surrounds us on a metaphysical level.

If we want to practice yoga exercises, it is advisable to call a qualified instructor and of course, start with the lowest level. Each posture in Yoga has a well-established role, and as we master it very well, we become able to vary our movements, thus climbing to another level, much higher. In this way, we will stay focused and persevere.

In addition, our body will become more supple and flexible, while enjoying a good tone. We can find enough reasons today to practice yoga or at least to want it. According to specialists, yoga is one of the most practical and simple methods of relaxation. We can take notes online and practice at home. We just have to want it. The comfort of your own home can become a true union with the surrounding universe.
