Yoga for all moods

Namaste!

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” The Bhagavad Gita

Yoga is something I do in my spare time; for exercise, as stress relief or just for fun. What ever the mood, I have found a yoga video on YouTube for almost any issue one might face in day to day life.

Be it stress, anxiety, bloated stomach, pulled muscle, back pain, even loneliness. Below I'll share with you some of the most useful yoga videos I have come across. All of which will be from an online yoga instructor named Adriene, I have tried loads of different channels and this one has been the best by far. She is calm, motivating and easy to follow; very engaging and relaxing. I hope you try these out and perhaps find some new ones yourself.

1) Self Love Yoga

The first video is one I frequently use, it is called Self Love Yoga from 'Yoga by Adriene'. This has been my go to in times of uncertainty or stress. I feel like the first thing that takes a hit in most challenging situations is your self-worth or self-esteem and this video brings us back to the love we need from ourselves and gives us the perspective we desperately need. This is a 50 min video and through the video you will not only connect with your inner self but also get a bit of a sweat on. This has been my go to for the most part of lockdown.

2) Full Body Flow

Now, if you want a shorter but more energetic video then this one is for you. Here you'll find yourself constantly moving through a set of flow movements repeatedly. This one will definitely help with toning up your body and getting your heart rate up. If you're in a hurry, this one is a great one to squeeze into your busy day for a quick but effective yoga session!

3) Yoga for Concentration and Mental Focus

Before an exam, meeting, work, or even after an exhausting day. This video will help you focus your mind and bring you some well-deserved calmness and clarity. Adriene talks us through this step by step and helps bring your attention into the present moment and focus our energy on the task at hand. This meditation/yoga video is extremely useful in times that you feel overwhelmed and scattered.

4) Yoga for Core (and Booty!)

I love doing this one. You'll see a lot of exercise videos for the core and bum but this one is the best I've come across. You'll definitely feel this working your body with a calmness and ease to it which most exercise videos for the core won't. You won't feel like your doing much but it works! And the slower pace in yoga will keep you more in control and working on muscles you didn't even know you had! This one is a must.

5) Yoga for Cramps

Now, anyone can try this... but I think it's safe to say this is one for the ladies. On the days you don't feel like doing a flow yoga because you've got your own 'flow' going on, this will be the video for you. It's relaxing and won't involve much movement from you. Its almost like a pain relief meditation. Give it a go!

Yoga has changed my life in so many ways, I find myself gravitating towards yoga over any other form of exercise because you get so much more out of it than just a standard workout. It helps you pay attention to both your body and mind. I hope you give some or all of the videos that I have shared with you guys a go. You won't regret it!
