Why Jermaine?

Because I am!

By Jay LeTron DobbinsPublished about a year ago 3 min read

Hello! I recently applied for an open position and submitted my resume for review. In no way I’m presenting this as a cover letter, but more so as a glimpse of who I am and my dedication to be a part of your organization.

I took a look at your landing page and understood the message. I take pride in my every living and me educating other about the insurance industry as it files our economy and way of living. I’m not at fashion of blowing my own horn and with my background in Commercial Property Management and Claims as an adjuster, I will let my talents speak for themselves when I’m a part of the team!

I will speak to why this position is a fit for me and I will also give you a peak into my personal background. First, I have triplets who are Freshman at Sunnyvale High School (two boys and a girl). I can go on about the mental challenges I face with co-parenting, but life continues to throw curve balls and as a Marine, I’ve been taught to Improvise, Adapt and Overcome all situations in life! I continue my focus on them and I also lead by example with thoughts on being a model capable citizen ready to contribute to society. I’m speaking from the hear, so please excuse the flow or any other grammatical errors that may exist within this letter.

My resume speaks to my experience, but the one thing I would like to point out in my next position is to make a difference in what I love to do. I wanted to hand-deliver this message to ensure the delivery and to show your company I’m the most dedicated to fill this position! I always believe in doing what needs to be done to stand out, but maintaining integrity and dignity for self at the same time.

I do believe that others have free opinion and expression of self, and it will never be my duty to disrupt that or bring it to the workplace environment. I’m definitely a self-starter and can work independently and with teams as needed.

With regard to the position! I have a combination of dealing with commercial properties and claims as a Property Manager and as a claims Adjuster. The two industries with claims and property management is like second nature to me and I’m familiar with the terminology of both fields! I understand commercial properties and I understand the need for clients needing restoration to their assets at a time of loss.

I don’t want to continue with what I can do on paper. I’m excited to show you! Thinking about this drive from Dallas gave me a lot to think about, but mostly the responsibility that is being asked of my if awarded this position!

Why me is the title of this letter! Well, without coming across as arrogant or self righteous, there is no better choice. I’m sure there will be tons of resumes submitted for this lucrative position, but the seat is calling my name because of the combination of skillset I bring. Others may be more qualified on paper, but they will never beat me in effort!

I once convinced the prettiest girl to dance with me in school and she didn’t give in because of my looks, she awarded the effort and gave me a chance! She left me for a professional baseball player, but hey, I tried!

I look forward to speaking with someone on the recruiting team! One will say I’m very, very crazy or very, very dedicated!
