Waves On the Ocean Breathing
I knew she was a free spirit.
My Own Words
Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Mary Hartnett, Wendy W. Williams
This book became available to me as I walked up Manhattan Avenue, on my way to begin my Brooklyn Greenway run. It has been a long time since I have been in this neighborhood. I passed so many places that I must get back to, especially now that I know exactly where the Jungle Cafe is, yum, right off the G train.
At first I was disappointed when I realized that RBG doesn’t read the audio book. But the split second Linda Lavin was introduced, I was thrilled.
My run hadn’t even started yet and already I had benefited from my personal endurance challenge.

- first run in 15 days
- fastest 2mi in 3 months
- fastest 3k in 3 months
- highest calories/hour in 3 months
- longest duration run in a month
- longest run in a month
- highest max heart rate in a month
- most calories burned in a month
- latest run in a month
Meditations
• Rainbow, volcano, waves on the ocean breathing. I honor my inner child.
• I have the power to stop my worry spirals. Step Back From Worries.
• May I be safe, happy and live with ease. Check In Mindfully.
• I am feeling better today. More energetic. Day 3 of period. More optimistic.
• I need comfort, joy, and a space to rest, and to start my day with as much hydration as possible. I need to be sure to set myself up the night before, keep the right stuff in the apartment. More water bottles perhaps.
• I am going to be kind to myself, and get back out there to run. I am going to clean a little bit every day. Keep track. Special notebook.
• I can build in moments of relief. This day is mine to create. I greet my anxiety with action.
My Sergio Speaks (2)
KAREN: So do you think our stories, or our meeting, intertwine?
SERGIO: Yes.
KAREN: Somehow. What connections did you see?
SERGIO: As soon as I had seen Karen, I knew she was a free spirit. Someone who didn’t care. In the place that we’re at, and in the generation that we’re at, you can see everybody’s locked up mentally, in a cage. And I have seen, yes, you do handle your own mental problems, but in a way you still strive to go about it. You know what I’m saying? There’s like, I don’t like to get too deep into attraction, because I know it can get dark. I know when you have a high energy, you can notice that. You know what I’m saying? Vibrations. You notice that. For me and you, I could relate to you in a way, because you’re someone who’s a rebel in my eye. You know what I’m saying? You don’t follow the line, you gotta work by a system and have a happy life. That’s not what—well that’s a system. It doesn’t mean nothing to me, to be honest with you. And I see that between the both of us. You know what I mean? I do believe that, in a way, I can help you understand other stuff, and you can help me understand stuff.
KAREN: Absolutely.
Dear September,
I truly had hopes for you. I really did. But you’re messing with my hormones, at the beginning of every month, which is zapping my energy. So, let’s be patient with each other. I will if you will. The struggle is real, but there is indeed a B side, so let’s flip that record when we get to the end of this song.
Yo, turn to that station,
Karen
