Spirituality & Medication
Yes, the Two Can Work Together

Spirituality & medication is such a divisive topic nowadays, even though it needn’t be. It is a sad fact that there are people out there who so staunchly refuse to accept that the two can mix in such a way that you CAN be spiritual whilst being on some form of medication. Now in this article, the medication we will be talking about in general includes all aspects of health - from physical to mental and emotional.
There is one thing that needs to be said though, and that is:
This is a reflection on my experience with medication. I am not a medical doctor, so this article is NOT intended to be taken as medical or professional advice. As always, it is best to consult a professional practitioner or your doctor in any event where medical treatment is needed.
With that out of the way, we can now focus on the article.
I have heard of quite a few people in the spiritual side of things either refusing medication or treatment for rather routine issues, or even recommending that others refuse treatment as well. Their argument has often been 'that it is not spiritual to take medication’. I am here to say that I find that to be a load of absolute rubbish. Many of those people need to get off of their egocentric horses and look at the world around them. I find that when push comes to shove, if all other natural therapies haven’t worked, then I say it is perfectly fine for you to look into mainstream medication - as long as it is done with sound and professional medical advice, of course.
There was quite a long time in my life where I would fight the need to take any form of medications. I would NEVER recommend that others fight it like me, as I knew that it was a part of my journey. I tried natural herbs till the cows came home to help me deal with depression. Yes, I consulted a certified health practitioner before taking such herbs, of which I recommend highly as well because making such decisions just by reading the label and going: ‘Google says it’s what I need because I’m feeling like this’ is the worst thing anyone can do for their health.
Eventually, as the depression became worse and worse, to the point where the herbs did almost nothing, I gave in and said: ‘Fine. Doc, I need your help.’ It was then that I got the help that I needed and it has helped greatly.
It was a little later on that I went into a meditative state seeking guidance and information on this issue. Hilarion, the ascended master of the Green and Orange Ray of Healing and Science came forward and provided me with some information about how some medications, particularly antidepressants, work on an energetic level as well as the physical level of boosting the chemicals in the brain. He went on to explain that they work to boost the shields around the mind to help prevent various negative energies and entities from attacking and draining your energy field that leads to spiritual depression as well.
From this information and my own experience, I find that spirituality and medication can indeed mix, especially when the right mindset is involved with the understanding that they can and do help on more than just a physical level.
Remember too, if anyone in the spiritual field tries to convince you to come off any form of medication, head for the hills and don’t look back.
