RCD Mallorca was founded in 1916 by a group of students at the Polytechnic University who then decided to form a football club because they were unhappy with their lack of options. The team has since gone on to become one of Spain’s most successful clubs and it plays its home games at La Nucía stadium which holds over 6500 spectators.

Created by businessman Joan Laporta and former footballer Joan Colom.

Real Madrid is a football club that was created by businessman Joan Laporta and former footballer Joan Colom in 2003. The two men had played for Mallorca together, which is where they met up again after their playing careers had ended. They decided to create the club as a way of boosting tourism around the city of Palma de Mallorca, which has been struggling with tourism since 2008 due to economic issues affecting Spain as whole.

The team has won nine La Liga titles since its inception (three under José Mourinho), one Champions League title (in 2018), two Copa del Rey trophies (2003–04 season) and one European Super Cup win (2009–10 season).

RCD Mallorca had never won a major European competition before they beat Barcelona 4-2 on aggregate in the Copa del Rey final to claim the club's first trophy since joining Barca's "La Masia" youth academy in 2008. It was also their first time reaching European finals—and they lost them both times (1–3 vs Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium; 1–0 vs Arsenal at Highbury).

After winning La Liga for its second straight season, Real Madrid has spent much of its time trying to establish itself as one of Europe's elite clubs despite having few resources compared with other top sides like Juventus or Barcelona--even though it still boasts many talented players such as Cristiano Ronaldo who was recently named FIFA World Player of The Year twice running!
