Potentially pointless products I purchased!

(and definitely don't regret)

While being in lockdown (part 3 for the UK), I'm spending way too much time surveying the internet and being tempted by products that I probably don't need. It is becoming a problem and probably an addiction. I'm freely wasting away my money that I should be saving for my future, but I do feel that buying things regularly has made me happier and helped the days go by so, what the hell!

Anyway, my most recent product that I've bought is a weighted hula hoop. I caved! Everyone was raving on about how great they are and how much flatter and more toned their core is. I'm all for trying to stay in shape, I love HIIT workouts and yoga, they've really helped with my mentality throughout lockdown, however, some days are a struggle. A weighted hula hoop seemed like a fun way to keep in shape and would require fairly little effort, plus once everyone was hyping about them, I had to get on board too (I'm such a sheep). So, the day had come. I ordered the hoop from a website called 'Core fitness balance' rather than Amazon, I personally would rather buy from independent businesses. The hoop had to be put together, it has 8 sections that clip into each other. It was fairly easy to put together once you heard the clicking into place. I only used 6 sections because the hoop was actually really big. It's also 1kg in weight which isn't really that heavy but is probably a good weight while getting used to the hoop.

So, I'm about to begin. I haven't hula hooped since I was a kid so I'm definitely out of practice but surely, it's not that hard. I start hooping... and it drops after about 10 seconds. Try again. Nope, not happening. Genuinely cannot keep this hoop up. The longest it lasted was probably about 30 seconds. I don't know whether it's because it has a bit of weight to it, or maybe I actually can't hula hoop, either way, I'm pretty upset. Also, I've read a lot of reviews to say that people have been bruised from using this product, and damn, I may not be able to keep this hoop up but I can definitely feel some bruising coming on.

I've seen a lot of postivity about this product, barely anyone has said anything bad about it (besides bruising and also not being able to hula hoop too). I really think this could have a positive effect on my body and I think it is worth every penny, I'm just going to have the practice in to make sure I can go longer than 30 seconds. Practice makes perfect and I'll definitely be putting the time in to make sure my body is ready for hot girl summer.

(For anyone interested, the recommended time for using a weighted hula hoop is apparently 20-30 minutes a day. Start by doing 5 minute intervals and then gradually work your way up. Need time to let the bruising heal)
