My Inner Thick Chick Chronicles
Mrs. Kendra Cody's Thick Fit Journey

Hi, my name is Kendra Cody. I am 30 years old. I have four beautiful children, who I love and a wonderful husband. We've been happily married for seven years. I'm a certified medical assistant, and I've been working in doctors offices for about 10 years. I had to choose, and sacrifice that particular career, to be a stay at home mom, due to one of my daughters medical condition.
One of my twin girls has what is called Blount's Disease. This causes her legs to bow drastically outwards, causing pain, discomfort, and deformity. She has gone through five surgeries all before the age of four. That particular procedure consists of breaking the legs from the knees; scraping, molding and replacing back together. Due to the extreme measures, and taking off work so consistently, I decided to stay home for her benefit. She's gotten a lot better over these last two years. I just make sure to keep her up to date with all follow up appointments. Okay, now let's get to know me a little better.
My VLOG Dedication

Well here is a little something about me. I was born in Nashville Tennessee, at a hospital called Skyline Medical. I was born early that morning around six AM, and at that very moment a star was born. My family and I then moved to Detroit, Michigan, my parents, my brother, sister, and myself. My father had found a new career path here, so we all decided to move.
My father is a pastor, so I've always been a PK, a Preacher's kid, my entire life. There had been a lot of rough patches trying to get used to being a daughter of a Preacher. Trying to find myself, and figure out who I was. A lot of people tested me and my faith multiple times, but I never lost faith.
I've always been a thick girl my entire life, and I've loved every bit of it. I've always went to doctors appointments where they would tell me I should lose weight, and this and that, and I followed those rules, to a certain extent. But over the years I began to gain a lot more weight than I should have.
While I was in high school I was extremely active and athletic. I was on the track team, I was in the marching band, I danced, sang in the choir, and I was even a part of the National Honor Society.
I made sure that I stayed active all through school. But once I graduated school in 2006 everything changed. I became lazy, I tended to eat more than I should, and this is where my new weight gain begin.
I had a few reasons for why I gained weight. I'm not trying to give any excuses, but I did have help along the way. I experienced a very bad car wreck that completely damaged my back, my grandmother pasted away, I had a miscarriage, and my father was diagnosed with cancer. I had fallen in a very deep depression. I'm trying to rise up beyond my disappointments and do better. It's hard, and I know it's not going to be easy, but I'm up for the challenge. I can do this.
