Reading for 1-13 thru 1-19-20

The Center card this week is the 5 of Wands.

The Wands of the Tarot represent fire; that which inspires us, lights the spark of passion that draws us to create new pathways, new ideas, new perspectives. The five of Wands at the center shows a struggle in finding ways to initiate the connection between that creative spark within and the everyday life we're living. Ideas we have now may not fit the parameters of the daily routines we've become accustomed to and that can have us feeling anxious and in need of change. Like a pair of glasses that needs a new prescription, they're there, they've been there for a good long while and have served the needs they were intended for but our eyes have changed and what was good once doesn't work the way we need it to now. We need to change the parameters, the lenses in the glasses, so that our vision is once again clear.

The West card is the 10 of Cups.

Emotionally, our sense of who we are and what we need has become full. The 10's of each suit depict the energy of the suit at its fullest, most intricate and multi faceted. As the Cups show us how we feel things, whether emotionally, intuitively or in empathy, I often see this card as symbolizing a feeling of being fed up, full to the brim and ready for something to give. The feeling that we’re carrying the weight of too many obligations or the burden of other people’s needs has become heavy and hard to balance. It's likely this feeling of being over full has sparked the creative, idealistic aspect of who we are that wants or needs a change but feelings of responsibility keep us tangled in old patterns. This being the case, we chafe at restraints and look for new ways to untangle ourselves from the ties that bind but no longer serve us.

The East card is the 10 of Pentacles.

This ten often engenders a feeling of wealth and generosity. It gives us the feeling that we are prosperous in life. That we have enough for our own well-being plus plenty to share. It’s not necessarily about our monetary means, though money can certainly be a part of it, the feeling itself is of security and generosity. We realize that what we have is not only plenty but more than enough. There is a real freedom in knowing that we have enough time, energy, money and strength to use with stores left over to share. This feeling of plenty works together with the feeling of being emotionally ready to shift helping keep the, angst producing, spark of the 5 of Wands alive.

In conclusion;

This week we will likely find ourselves chomping at the bit to strike out and release new creative ideas and projects. Emotionally we’re ready to face the reality that those old glasses that helped us see clearly and looked really good when we were at a different stage in our lives aren’t working as well as they used to. Plus what were we thinking when we thought that style would work for us?! Our old obligations have become ungainly and have started to pull us off center so we look for creative ways to disengage. As we let go of old structure that lacks the flexibility to hold our expansive new ways of thinking we see how prosperous we really are. We hold a wealth of ideas, a goldmine of energy and a treasury of support. We have all that we need and enough to share. Perhaps it just took feeling “fed up” to open our eyes to what we can do and how prosperous we can be.

Have an arcing, sparking creative week!
