Mirror Dragon Tarot week 10, 2020

Reading for 3-2 thru 3-8-20

The Center card this week is the Hermit.

The Hermit embodies our ability to recognize the materialistic nature of our daily lives and to find pleasure in the release of that superficial costume. As we make our way in this complicated world, we often find it difficult to hold on to ascetically pure intent, our simple unadorned truth. When we slip into our own, pure and honest expression of reality, dropping the weight of glittery masks, shiny facades or cold, thorny shields we discover the joy found in simply Being. While reveling in the experience of our inner lucidity and clear intent the whirl and buzz of chaos around us softens to a cool, ambient hum. The energy of the Hermit shows us the way to calm the center of whatever storm we may face and reminds us that the storm is not the only available energy. Once we find ourselves at the calm center we can see the storm for what it is dividing the important issues from the manipulation of egoistic wants or the diversion of angry (usually baseless) attacks. When we’re no longer working to batten down the hatches against the whirlwind and can access that calm at the center it allows us to think, to contemplate what action will be in the highest and best good for all involved rather than feeling forced into reactionary measures or an adversarial position. There is an old tried and true cliche that when facing the blinding influence of raw emotion, count to ten. I would suggest deep breathing to accompany the count and I find that when the number ten is reached cooler heads emerge and prevail. Embracing the energy of the Hermit allows us to remain in the peace found there.

The West card is the Queen of Pentacles.

Of the court cards, I see the Queens of the Tarot as the teachers and nurturers of their respective suits. They’ve grown through the youngest stage standing open and innocent to receive the all experience their suit has to offer and the adolescent phase where trial and error reign. They've come to the point where they’re able to share their hard won knowledge with compassion and the understanding of what it takes to learn the ropes. With this queen being a card of the Pentacle (Disc) suit we’re working with our use of resources; time, energy, money and the physical body. Whether we’re looking at money issues, busy schedules, strength of focus, physical restraints or the electronic and communication issues of this Mercury retrograde cycle, know that focusing on the calm rather than the chaos will lead us to the results we want to see. This queen shows us that we have all the experience and wisdom we need to make good use of the resources available.

The East card is the 10 of Pentacles.

The tens of each suit represent the energy of that suit to its fullest, most intricate and varied degree. Here we see the lengths to which our resources can reach, in any and all directions. While the 10 of Pentacles is often seen as a card of wealth and status it can also reflect wealth at its most static and unmoving. This 10 represents the idea that it’s unlikely we can have our cake and eat it too, no matter how much we should want to. We bask in the glow of all we have and worry about letting go and losing that bounty. If we can step back away from the glamour of having (hoarding) that wealth we’re able to see that we have more than we can ever use and holding it too tightly leaves us with a lack of many wonderful options. In the overall picture of the week my sense is that we’ve found the inner high ground where we can see past the small minded wants and petty devices of greed. We can now see what’s workable and what’s just a veil of mist and we can proceed with that knowledge.

In conclusion;

After last week’s tempest of confusion and manipulative intent and likely because of it, we’ve been compelled to look to our own calm center to deal with flying resentments, whirling, greedy, grabbing hands or well aimed darts of misplaced or undeserved accusations. On another tangent, we could simply have been dealing with an overabundance of details and tiny fires to douse where we needed to dig deep to find the smooth determined and able person we are when we’re not caught in the push-me-pull-you of other people's whims. This week can be one of strength, wisdom and positive outcomes if we can remember to find the calm at the center of the storm and work from there. From that vantage point we can see what’s really going on, what’s a fear inspired mirage, which details deserve our attention and the light at the base of the whirlpool which leads through and out.

Have an intentionally serene week. Light, Tory

TIP for the week: The next time a stranger talks to you when you’re alone, look up at them shocked and whisper, “You can see me!?” It will brighten the day for you both.
